Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, “Thanksgiving” – Mommy issues.

We learned a lot about Ricky (Joshua Bassett) and Gina’s (Sofia Wylie) mommy issues in this episode and it was sad to watch unfold. When Gina calls her mom to deliver the good news that quickly turns into a bad news call my heart broke a little. After seeing how she’s so happy to connect with others and finally get invited to a sleepover, it hit me just as hard as it hit Gina to hear her mom say that they would have to move again. At the same time, Ricky had been struggling with having to deal with his mom having a boyfriend so quickly. I love how both of these problems were kind of intertwined with each other. Both of those issues hit a nerve within each character at the party for different reasons, but in profound ways that had me wondering where will they go from here, especially for Gina. Will she have to move? Will she find a way to stay?

Comedy/Reality TV: Survivor, “Mama, Look At Me Now” – A battle by three!

The moment where the final there (Tommy, Noura and Dean) sat and explained their gameplay had to be the most peculiar moment. Not because of what was shown, but because of what it lacked. After coming off of such a controversial season the back and forth of who played the better game and who actually won, in the end, didn’t seem as celebratory as it should. It was interesting, enough, just to see these players plead their cases and hear the questions that were asked from the jury. Tommy won the majority vote in the end though and it’ll be a big showdown when former winners come back to compete in the 40th season!

Sci-fi/Fantasy: His Dark Materials – “The Fight to the Death” –  The king is dead.

The fight between Iorek (Joe Tandberg) and Iofur (Joi Johannsson) was the most entertaining part of this episode! Coming into this series at this time had me completely lost, but just from their interactions in this episode you could tell that their anger for each other was prevalent. The king is now dead and things seem to now be under Iorek’s control. The fight scene was well-done, especially in such a CGI heavy moment.
