Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: Hunters, “In the Belly of the Whale” – The hunt begins.

What a twisty-tangled show this series premiere turned out to be! “Hunters” has a lot of rhymes and riddles that are sprinkled throughout the premiere episode. These moments, so far, are my favorite thing about the show’s storytelling. The one in which Detective Morris (Jerrika Hinton) is being warned was truly a standout from the premiere. Each monologue is told in a specific way and how it is spoken really sets the tone for the audience. I’m definitely ready to see what more this show has to offer.

Comedy/Reality TV: The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia, “Breath Mint” – I can do anything.

Ashley (Paulina Chávez) deciding that nobody was going to tell her what she can and can’t do was the highlight of the premiere. Even with her old friend trying to make her back down from going after her first kiss, Ashley decided that she was worthy of kissing the captain of the football team if he was willing to kiss her back. Even though it didn’t turn out well for her, it was good to see her think she could accomplish something without fully shutting down before even trying.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: Star Trek: Picard – “Stardust City Rag” – A spy among us.

Dr. Jurati (Alison Pill) killing Dr. Maddox (John Ales) was a twist that left many questions to be answered. Many shocking moments happen in this episode and set up the rest of the season for a lot to be discovered. This moment in particular brings up questions of who is Jurati really. And, even though it has been suspected of her true intentions, things are just getting started. It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here.
