Top 3 TV Moments – July 5 – July 10

Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: Little Voice, “I Don’t Know” – A humble beginning.

When Bess (Brittany O’Grady) finally gets her chance to sing on stage she royally stumbles through every bit of it. I loved this secondhand embarrassing moment because of how realistic it felt and yet so brand new all at the same time. In most shows or films the moment they beg to be let on stage, they get there and stumble over their words or their shyness overtakes them for just a little bit. But the character almost always redeems themselves before they exit the stage. This did not happen here. It didn’t mean that Bess wasn’t worthy of becoming the singer that she wants to be. It just means that she isn’t ready for it quite yet. This wasn’t the night, though, that she was going to blow up. O’Grady did a great job of portraying that myriad of emotions for such a tender moment.

Comedy/Reality TV: Close Enough, “Logan’s Run’d” – 30-year-olds and over are not welcomed!

Josh (J.G. Quintel) and Emily (Gabrielle Walsh) get a night free and, after some persuasion, they go to a club with their roommates. The club turns out to have an eerie side to it and when the two find out it quickly becomes a horror show. The club gives anybody over the age of thirty the V.I.P treatment, which means “Very Irrelevant Persons.” Unfortunately, they are dying if they decide enter. It’s very weird and makes the two freak out. It was a dark but strangely interesting part of the episode.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: The Protector, “Season 4, Episode 1” – The past knows the future.

Hakan (Çagatay Ulusoy) tells the crew that they’re going to stop what’s happening in the present from happening by going back to the past. After being in the first Protector’s body in the past, Hakan thinks this is the best way to go about stopping what happens in the future. He says that they will all go back, so that will be very interesting to see how they navigate that aspect without getting caught in an even bigger mess.
