Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: The Good Doctor , “I Love You” – Sweet devastation.

Coming in with the best and worst moment of the week is “The Good Doctor.” The final scene between Dr. Neil Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) and Dr. Claire Browne (Antonia Thomas) brought both tears and anger out of me. I’ve seen their spark from the beginning and was always okay with them getting together in a romantic way, even if they weren’t my endgame ship. However, this was definitely not the ending I saw for them. Gonzalez and Browne gave devastatingly beautiful performances as Melendez and Claire bared their hearts and said, “I love you” to each other for the first and last time. These two have come a long way, especially during this season, as Melendez has played a crucial part in helping Claire get through the grief of her mother’s death. Losing a huge character like Melendez was a bold move for “The Good Doctor.” He held it together for everyone he got to see before he passed. I wish he would have gotten goodbye moments with other characters, too. I hate that once again Claire has been put in the center of heartbreak and sorrow. I hope they give her a break in Season Four because she definitely deserves some time to breathe, be happy, and stay happy. Melendez will definitely be missed, but I’m glad Gonzalez was able to play the character in true Melendez fashion up until the very end.

Comedy/Reality TV: Broke, “Pilot” – The unlikely, loud, busy, and fun family.

Milo’s (Antonio Raul Corbo) school project was the highlight of this new wild show. Throughout the premiere episode I kept thinking how all of these people are just an unlikely group of individuals thrown together. But, when it came to the end, I realized that is what I actually liked most about the sitcom. Milo says that his dad left their loud and busy life, but now that his aunt and uncle have joined the household the chaos has amped up and he loves it. This was a fun show and the ending let me know that they’re definitely going to be in for a wild ride. I also hope we get to see more Milo!

Sci-fi/Fantasy: Westworld, “The Absence of Field” – Silently magnifying!

Charlotte (Tessa Thompson) struggled throughout the episode, but Tessa Thompson’s performance ranged from soft, robotic and intense in a matter of seconds. Watching Charlotte seemingly out of it while watching the video she left for her son was peculiar. Then, she makes it to pick up her son from school and completely turns into a person with a mission that she has no problem completing. The small facial expressions that change throughout the episode, especially in this moment, is what makes me praise Thompson’s acting. She was absolutely brilliant in this episode, even when Charlotte was meant to be more mechanical and composed.
