Top 3 TV Moments – October 27 – November 1

Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: All Rise, “Fool for Liv” – Social time!

This episode found Lola (Simone Missick) in a tough situation that led to her having to stay with her favorite judicial assistant, Sherri (Ruthie Ann Mills). They finally spent some “social time” away from the courthouse and it was just as awkward and fulfilling as you’d imagine. Getting to learn more about Sherri and why she’s so strict with rules and decisions made me like who her character is even more. I like that Lola and Sherri were able to sit down in a more comfortable setting. Lola’s always more playful in her conversations with Sherri so it was good to see Sherri let her guard down some in front of Lola. I love hearing Lola and Sherri go back and forth with each other, but this moment was a nice calm one to contrast with all the high energy moments they usually seem to gravitate towards. I’m excited to see how their relationship grows from here because we all know that no matter how many times Sherri says she’s only doing something for the job, she actually cares about what happens to Judge Carmichael. Missick and Mills are so good at playing off of each other and hitting the comedic beats so well week after week. Seeing that they can do the same with the more earnest moments lets me know that these women will do great things with whatever is handed to them.

Comedy: Bless This Mess, “Scare Night” – What a fright?

Rio (Lake Bell) being afraid to tell Mike (Dax Shepard) that she hated being scared led to more problems than she could have imagined. After running downstairs because she heard noises and discovering Kay (Lennon Parham) roaming the house in a sheet, she had to run back upstairs to save Mike from a bat attack. I didn’t expect the bat to be gnawing into Mike’s neck when they made it back to the room, but I loved every bit of this craziness! Kay being in a sheet the entire time, even after she stopped the bat (with her bare hands), made it even more hilarious. That was definitely a scary night to remember since it’s going to be their last “Scare Night.”

Sci-fi/Fantasy: Charmed, “Deconstructing Harry” – Hut 4?

After not hearing Harry (Rupert Evans) repeat the safe word back to Macy (Madeleine Mantock), I should have known that he wasn’t the real Harry. However, the way he came in so quickly willing to take her away did give me pause. He immediately told them to go and Macy was definitely hesitant even up until he zapped them out of there. At the end of the episode we learn that Harry wasn’t there to help Macy escape, but it was his impersonator. They realize then that it was Harry’s Darklighter. So many twists and discoveries took place in this episode. It was fitting for it to end in the same way. Now, with a missing Macy, it’s only going to get more chaotic from here.
