Top 3 TV Moments – September 1 – September 6
By: Malasha Parker
Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!
Drama: Elite, “84 horas desaparecido” – Lu exposes Cayetana
Although Lu (Danna Paola) is one of my least favorite characters, her scene in this episode was a highlight of the season. Her speech at the fundraiser was perfectly spiteful. Cayetana (Georgina Amorós) had been getting away with her antics all season and to see her continue to do it was making things even worse. So, I didn’t feel bad for Cayetana when Lu decided to tell the party the real reason for the fundraiser. It sucks that it had to be done, but it was also a horrible thing to do after the reason Cayetana’s mother was blacklisted was because of her lies and stealing. I also cannot forget to mention Danna Paola’s performance during the speech. It sort of sucked that Lu was spilling everyone else’s tea when she had plenty of her own to let out, but it made for a great scene that was perfectly in character for Lu.
Comedy/Reality TV: Girls Cruise, “No Time” – The girls experience J’ouvert.
The ladies experienced J’ouvert morning for the first time on this episode and it looked to be just as fun as expected, een though the ladies were not feeling the early 3AM wakeup call. After finally getting up and dressed, everyone seemed to be coming around to the J’ouvert fun. It was nice to see Pretty Vee get her energy back up and see all the women really start to embrace the experience. J’ouvert was a really messy event, but the girls took it all like champs. Well, most of them– I’m talking about Chilli, who was running from the paint. Regardless, all the women had a good time that morning and that’s really what this trip is all about.
Sci-fi/Fantasy: Titans, “Trigon” – A new Rachel is born.
After seeing everyone succumbing to their inner darkness while Rachel (Teagan Croft) and Gar (Ryan Potter) fight to escape, Trigon (Seamus Dever) manages to morph into his true form. Once Rachel gets Dick (Brenton Thwaites) to release his darkness, she takes on Trigon by herself. The power she exuded as she walked towards him, with no intentions of backing down, was an ultimate badass moment for Rachel. She’s only just really seeing all that she can do. Although she has expressed her power, this time it was done with more confidence and stability than she’s had before. I am so excited for the rest of this season. The season premiere set up a completely new stage for the Titans!
