Tori Anderson – MsLabelled

A) Before I auditioned for Drew, I binge watched the first season of “MsLabelled.” I’ve got to admit I’ve never watched a web series from start to finish before and I was immediately hooked. I felt like I had just found web heaven. I loved the quirky characters, their differences/similarities and the way they bounce off each other. The vlog set up was incredibly voyeuristic. I felt as if I was really there, witnessing these people in their trials and tribulations, watching them try and cope. All of these things made me want to be a part of it. Plus, it had an amazing team behind it, a great cast and crew and I fell in love with the role of Drew.

Q) A live stream is introduced this season, will the characters become more self conscious or will it add to their narcissism since they will have to always be “on?”

A) It does both, depending on the character. I think everyone is trying to be on their best behavior, but there are moments when people slip up and their true character is revealed. You see the cracks in their facade, which makes it really interesting. The live stream also gives some characters the outlet they need to profess their greatness to a watching audience…[cough cough] Andy.

Q) “Mirror Mirror” has always seemed like an inside job, will we learn more about the background of the characters and possible motives?

A) Oh, it all comes out!

Q) Is there anything that you have added to the role that wasn’t originally scripted?

A) I ad-libbed very little, to be honest. Drew isn’t entirely the spontaneous type. Everything is very planned and ordered and following the script really helped her structure. That said, there were some scenes that were entirely unscripted, like the styling montages where we just went with it.

Q) As the season progresses, how will dynamics and interpersonal relationships shift?

A) Well, this season has some rather big reveals. People come out of the woodwork and change right before your eyes. You also find out that more people have secrets than you originally thought. It’s pretty epic.

Q) You’re a part of social media, how is it getting instant fan feedback after the episode?

A) I love nothing more than reading peoples reactions to the episodes on YouTube. Everyone is so honest it’s refreshing. It brings a great big smile to my face.

Q) Your character is new this season and in charge of PR but seems to have great care for the employees. Will she be able to keep up the balance or will underlying factors throw in some red herrings?

A) Drew is a problem-solver. She loves her job and the people around her but she knows that someone is inherently to blame for the “Mirror Mirror” debacle. It’s a precarious balance so naturally she follows a red herring here and there. Most of the characters do — I think the audience is meant to follow as well. That is where all of those juicy twists reside. It’s a web series that definitely keeps you guessing and is full of cliff-hangers.

Q) What has been your favorite behind the scenes moment? 

A) Stuffing tissues down my shirt so that I didn’t sweat through my blouse. The first day was HOT! Really, really hot. That and all of Janice’s outfits. Sydney [Kondruss, who plays Janice] is just plain mesmerizing.

Q) You and Sara Hennessey (Anna) have such great chemistry together, did that come naturally?

A) I feel like it is impossible to not have chemistry with Sara. She is hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing when I was around her. Plus, she is so natural and down-to-earth.  So, yes, it came naturally. Yup, I dig her.

Q) What do you hope that people take away from watching MsLabelled this season?

A)  I hope that people really take to heart the underlying themes of this season. I can’t tell you what those are…they will be revealed. I also just want people to enjoy watching.  I want viewers to get a kick out of these feisty characters and delight in being shocked, thrilled, appalled and feel a little lovey-dovey here and there.
