Vincent Martella – Everybody Hates Chris

Q.  What are some of the recent projects that you’ve been working on?

A.  Of course I’m shooting a full season of “Everybody Hates Chris.”  I started production on an animated TV show for Disney called “Phineas and Ferb.”  I play the lead Phineas. It’s great because I get to sing which is another project I just completed. My album of my own original music that I wrote and co-wrote. One of the songs is on my website. The album will be released shortly via my website.

Q.  What’s new with your character this season on “Everybody Hates Chris?”

A.  Greg is pretty much the same as last year. Greg and Chris are closer friends this year. I would say the show is funnier this year.

Q.  Do you have a really memorable moment from your time filming on the show?

A.  Every day is an adventure.  What’s great is other actors from other shows tell us what great work we are doing. Here I am only 14. It feels so good to be respected by adult actors

Q.  What do you think it is about “Everybody Hates Chris” that continues to draw viewers in?

A.  Most people can relate one way or another to our show. Adults can remember the 80’s and kids well can ask there parents, was it really like that. A funny way of learning about life and history.

Q.  You’ve also been working on the show “Phineas and Ferb.”  What can you tell us about the premise for this film and about your character?

A.  This is a great show.  Every show is about summer vacation and doing something fun. Phineas likes to have fun. The sky is not the limit for him.

Q.  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A.  Well, playing with friends and family. I work on my music a lot and I play the piano. When I have time I do what most kids do have fun. It can be basketball, tennis, swimming. All the normal things, when I have time that is. I work with a lot of charities too. I’m a Youth Ambassador for the Special Olympics. I also work with the Ronald McDonald Camp to mention just a few.

Q.  Do you have a latest obsession?  Are you into any particular sport, activity, music group or book?

A.  The sports I mentioned.  I’m what you call a retro Beatle. My music is a lot like them. I listen to the old classics, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Eagles etc.  Oh, I sing and play them too.
