Q) How would you best describe your sound?

A) Indie folk. We try to capture a bit of the folk tradition in songwriting while also blending more lush soundscapes.

Q) Who would you consider your biggest musical influences?

A) Bon Iver and Beck.

Q) Tell us a little more about your upcoming single “The Notice.”

A) Our next single “The Notice” is about our change in career. We both worked as lawyers but found it tedious and uninspiring. “The Notice” is about that change and coming to terms with the ambiguous lifestyle that goes along with being a musician.

Q) What kind of fan response have you been receiving to the song?

A) Although they haven’t heard the recording, it has gone over well live. It’s one of the more “indie” leaning of our songs.

Q) What was your songwriting process for this song? Does it differ every time you craft music?

A) It is different every time. But we always try to start with a chord progression and melody that inspires us. Then, we try to find the right instrumental / structure to bring that to life.

Q) In addition to a new single, you are gearing up to release a new EP this August. What themes did you explore during the writing and recording process?

A) We are hoping to have maybe a four to five song EP. Although we haven’t written every song this will explore loss.

Q) How did the opportunity to perform at SXSW come to fruition?

A) Our booking agent, Joey Massa, at Space Agency was able to land us a spot. We are thrilled to finally get to play, it has been a big bucket list item for us.

Q) Which artists and/or events are you most looking forward to seeing at SXSW?

A) Hotel Vegas, Tacos and some free tattoos.

Q) How did you craft your set list for the festival?

A) We wanted to lean a bit more into the energetic side of things since most sets are fairly short. We tried to get something where each song flowed from one to the next quickly so there was not much dead space.

Q) What does it mean to you to perform at such a prestigious festival?

A) It’s really exciting, it’s been a bucket list goal for us for some time now.

Q) Gerry, you have spoken about how losing a professional mentor has guided you further in your songwriting and music career. With both of you leaving a very high-stress profession to pursue music, how has music helped you in the healing process of coming into your own and moving forward from such a profound loss?

A) Simply put, I think it gives us something to be excited about. It is so crucial that people have things to look forward to and to be excited to share with loved ones. Music is that outlet for us.

Q) Who are some artists that you would love to collaborate with on music in the future?

A) Bon Iver, Fiona Apple

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters of your music?

A) Thank you! We hope you like the new stuff we are coming out with and appreciate you taking the time to listen and show your support. It means the world to us.
