WHY SHOULD I WATCH?
This new series is done in a mockumentary-style. The premise is that Zoe (played by Rachel Paulson) is a hopeless romantic who is starting to lose hope in ever finding true love in the New York City lesbian dating scene. After over a decade of failed relationships, Zoe enlists the aid of her friend and crush Devon (played by Olivia Jampol). How does she enlist this aid? Zoe asks Devon to live stream her dates so that she can hear from the internet at large about what she is doing wrong and how she can fix it. After a date is aired to the world Zoe even takes time to answer audience questions on her next live stream. The chemistry between Zoe and Devon is palpable and the mishaps that occur to Zoe while she is navigating through the dating world are hilarious.
The events depicted in these episodes are based on the real-life dating experiences of a lesbian in New York City. Paulson’s portrayal of Zoe is earnest and endearing that you can’t help but root for her to find her happy ending. Also, make sure to follow @DatingZoe on their Twitter page (link below) where you can shadow Zoe as she responds to possible connections on Tinder and posts what she has been up to in between her dates.
