Web Series Wednesday – Nevernight

WHY SHOULD I WATCH?

Based on the best-selling novel, The Nevernight Chronicle by Jay Kristoff, Nevernight is a three-part web series detailing the journey of Mia Corvere (Piéra Forde). Forde adapted the book for the small screen, making her perfectly equipped to bring the tortured Mia to life. You can tell how close she is to the source material as she handles every aspect of Nevernight’s creation with the utmost respect and care and does an amazing job of bringing the world to life.

The series is dramatic, dark and sexy. As Mia searches for The Red Church on a revenge mission she comes across both friends and foes, but the highlight is her running into Tric (Jordi Webber). Both on similar journeys, they strike up an alliance and their chemistry is through the roof. Mia is a strong confident woman whose knees don’t go weak at the sight of a handsome stranger. She stands face to face with Tric, questioning him without stepping back. Mia doesn’t cower in fear for anyone as she’s the one causing that reaction.

Two of the three episodes are currently available, with the third and final episode slated to drop at the end of the week. The set designs are impeccable, really painting the picture and placing you smack dab in the middle of the scene, and the costumes are expertly detailed. Nevernight is the real deal.

There is also a myriad of behind the scenes features available to watch alongside the series. Q and A’s, trivia with the cast, production diaries and even looks at their photoshoots for the series accompany the episodes. I’m a sucker for well thought out series, world building and extra special features, so Nevernight checked all the boxes for me. I suspect it’ll have that effect on just about everyone, especially fans of the book series.
