What To Watch This Week

Monday:
The Big Bang Theory: Tonight is the season premiere and we return to the scene of the crime. Everyone has gathered for Penny and Leonard to renew their vows, but now there is an added awkwardness thanks to a parental hookup. Let’s see how Sheldon handles this most interesting of situations. (CBS, 8pm ET/PT)
The Good Place: In the premiere episode of this new series we find Eleanor Shellstrop making her way to “the good place” post mortem. After expecting to find herself in a warmer locale, we watch as Eleanor struggles to make herself a better person while hiding from the angelic architect who mistakenly brought her there. (NBC, 10pm ET/PT)
Tuesday:
Bull: This new series is actually based on the life of Dr. Phil. We find a brilliant legal expert running a successful trial consulting firm. Using his training in Psychology, human intuition and data he is able to help guide lawyers through their high-stakes trials in order to get a ruling in the client’s favor. (CBS, 9pm ET/PT)
This Is Us: Jason Katims of “Parenthood” fame brings us yet another heartwarming drama. In the series “This Is Us” we follow several people whose lives are unknowingly intertwined. We see as they all begin to notice how these coincidences play into their day-to-day experiences. (NBC, 10pm ET/PT)
Wednesday:
Speechless: This new show is filled with heart and humor. We find Maya DiMeo fighting for the rights of her son who has cerebral palsy. Navigating a new home while looking for the right person to finally give her son a voice makes for some monumental moments. (ABC, 8:30pm ET/PT)
Empire: Grab some milk because Cookie is back! The season begins with the big reveal of who was shot. We know that this masterful musical show always brings the best guest stars so be ready for some big names and bigger story lines. If the lion was on the prowl before, now it’s completely out of the cage… (FOX, 9pm ET/PT)
Thursday:
Grey’s Anatomy: TGIF begins again! Our favorite doctors without morals find themselves right where we left them. Meredith and her sister still have eyes for the new guy. Alex is dealing with the end of his relationship and his fast fist work. Plus, April awakes to seeing Catherine holding her baby. When prodded for a name, April must summon her strength to break the news that the baby will not share her grandmother’s name. (ABC, 8pm ET/PT)
How To Get Away With Murder: Analise and the Keating Five are back at the books! We find Analise and our fab five back at their studies and learning the law. This season promises to be less about a particular case and more about actual legal work. But it wouldn’t be a season of “How To Get Away With Murder” if we didn’t find some form of trouble. (ABC, 10pm ET/PT)
Friday:
MacGyver: The blonde mullet is back and badder than ever! In this premiere, the iconic character MacGyver finds himself teaming with the Department of External Services (DXS) in order to recover a bioweapon that has gone missing. Because it has the ability to destroy so lives with one single drop, it is up to MacGyver to work his magic and protect the world. (CBS, 8pm ET/PT)
Van Helsing: Uh oh. It is the future and vampires have run amuck! Our only hope for a savior comes in the form of Vanessa Van Helsing because it is through her unique blood composition that she has the ability to return vampires to their human form. Because of the secret weapon that is Vanessa Van Helsing, she becomes a vampire target. (Syfy, 10pm ET/PT)
Sunday:
Bob’s Burgers: It is yet another season of the hilarious animated series surrounding the Belcher burger bunch. Tonight our poor Louise comes down with the flu while Linda goes on quite an adventure in order to be by her daughter’s side with Louise’s favorite toy. While angry at her family, Louise falls into a fever dream that includes mates, music, and madness. (FOX, 7:30pm ET/PT)
