What To Watch This Week

Monday:
12 Monkeys: Season Two starts off on the right foot with Cole and Ramse patching up their broken friendship. One catch, they’re still on the run from the Army of the 12 Monkeys. Flash forward to the year 2043 where Railly and Jones attempt to navigate an uncertain future under the command of Deacon and the Twelve control the Temporal Facility. (Syfy, 8pm ET/PT)
Tuesday:
Containment: When an outbreak occurs in Atlanta, the city is left with a large part quarantined. Unfortunately, those stuck on the inside are fighting for their lives. The drama begins tonight as we follow various characters on both sides of the bubble and watch how the society within grows reveals the downfall of humanity and the rise of unlikely heroes. (CW, 9pm ET/PT)
The Night Manger: In the premiere episode we find former soldier Jonathan Pine as the night manager at the Nefertiti hotel in Cairo, Egypt. He is approached by a guest, Sophie Alekan, who is a kept woman under the thumb of businessman Freddie Hamid. She seeks out Pine’s assistance to copy some documents, which turns out reveal that Hamid is an arms trader so a concerned Pine decides to take them to the British embassy where his papers are sent to International Enforcement Agency head Angela Burr. Unfortunately, Pine finds Sophie murdered. Flash forward four years and we find him working at a Swiss hotel. Angela summons him to her office where he finds out that a guest at his hotel, Richard Roper, is an international arms dealer who has had a hand in Sophie’s demise. Pine must go undercover to help Angela trap Roper and bring her killer to justice. (AMC, 10pm)
Wednesday:
Empire: Yes, I know, this is the second week in a row I’m recommending you tune in. But, in all honesty, it’s needed. We left off with Lucious revealing his past and Andre in another meltdown. Hakeem proposed to Laura and Rhonda found herself under the roof of ally/enemy Anika. If last week sounds this juicy, imagine what is in store when the truth FINALLY comes out about the newest addition to the Lyon family… (FOX, 9pm ET/PT)
Thursday:
Orphan Black: Tatiana Maslany. How we’ve missed you…In Season Four’s second episode, we find Sarah returning home after evading Neolution in Iceland. She’s back to track down an elusive new ally when she uncovers the next step in their sick agenda – to implant some dangerous technological devices in humans. Meanwhile, Cosima is struggling with Delphine’s disappearance and Alison and Donnie host an insatiable and pregnant Helena. We also find Felix feeling like an outsider and sending him on a journey of self-discovery. (BBC America, 10/9C)
Friday:
Wynonna Earp: This Syfy translation on the old favorite tale of Wyatt Earp finds a female stepping into those badass boots. Tonight finds Wynonna and Dolls in a fight to stop the residents of Purgatory from being attacked by an invisible assailant. Whether you are a fan of Westerns of Science Fiction, this is the show for you. (Syfy, 10pm ET/PT)
Saturday:
Outlander: With Jamie and Claire’s plans to change history, we find the two leading separate lives. Jamie is busy spending his days and nights wading into the political arena while Claire tries to busy herself by helping those in need. Jamie isn’t too thrilled about his pregnant wife at work with the invalid, but it won’t stop her from doing what she does best. To top it off, Claire is struggling with the secret that Black Jack is still alive. No longer able to keep her secret to herself, we’re left wondering if she’ll finally find the nerve to tell the news to her husband. (Starz, 9pm ET/PT)
Sunday:
Game of Thrones: Winter has come and gone, but we still find our favorite characters fighting for their lives. We left off with Sansa suffering at the hands of Ramsey, Jon Snow was dead (or was he) and Tyrion went into hiding. With everyone so tight lipped about the storylines of the season, who knows what is in store? All I know is that we will all be glued to our TVs drooling over this epic mythical madness that draws us in so deeply. (HBO, 9pm ET/PT)
Veep: Selina is stuck. We find her exactly where we left her, still fighting to be President. When Season 5 premieres tonight, she is seeking to find some additional votes that will guide her into her dream job. Meanwhile, she must maintain decorum as she grasps to hold on to the biggest gig of her life. (HBO, 10:30pm ET/PT)
