Q) Whitney’s Cookies recently did a collaboration with Sadie Robertson Huff. How did this come to fruition?

A) I have known Sadie for a while. She and her husband love our cookies.  I thought it would be fun to do a cookie collaboration with her. It’s been so fun!

Q) Sadie helped come up with the idea for her own cookie for Whitney’s Cookies called Sadie’s Sourdough Cinnamon Roll, based on her love for the treat. Tell us about the process of bringing this cookie to life and creating it.

A) Sadie loves cinnamon rolls! She asked if I could create a cookie out of her love for cinnamon rolls and also add sourdough to it.

It was quite a challenge because cinnamon roll dough isn’t sweet, but cookie dough is. I wanted to be sure the cookie wouldn’t be too sweet. The addition of sourdough helped add a perfect tang that balanced the sweetness.

Q) Other than the idea for the cookie, in what other ways did she collaborate with the creation of the cookie?

A) I sent Sadie a test batch of the cookie and she loved it! Her team gave us some inspiration for the design of her specialty cookie box and our designer created an amazing box for her collab.

Q) What were some of your favorite memories of working with Sadie on this collaboration?

A) I loved being challenged on creating this cookie flavor.  It was unlike any flavor I had ever created. The response we have received to our orders of it has been amazing.

Q) Sales of the cookie help support Camp Ch-yo-ca, which was an important part of Sadie’s childhood. How did it feel knowing you were able to not only help others, but also help support Sadie’s favorite place?

A) Our Eat Cookies. Do Good. initiative definitely feels good knowing we are making more than just cookies. We are helping amazing causes.

Q) You and Sadie have been friends for years. How did this project bring you two closer together?

A) I have had the privilege to cook for Sadie and her family over the years. We also get to see each other almost every year at the Tim Tebow Foundation Gala. I played golf with her husband one year at Tim Tebow Foundation’s celebrity golf tournament.  This was definitely a special project to work together on.

Q) Will you and Sadie be collaborating on any future cookie collaborations or projects?

A) I’m not sure. I would be open to it.

Q) You have also worked with Kimberly Schlapman from Little Big Town. Tell us a little bit about that collaboration.

A) Kimberly visits our cookie shop in downtown Franklin with her kids. She loves our brownie cookie. She felt like the perfect person for our first collab being that she is a local. She challenged me to make a cookie out of her two favorite desserts, her mama’s lemon blueberry cobbler and her grandma’s tea cakes. The cookies turned out amazing. It was a Lemon Blueberry Tea Cake cookie.

Q) Who are some other celebrities you’d like to collaborate with for future cookie projects?

A) I have some other people in mind to collaborate with, but you will have to wait to find out.

Q) You are best known for winning the first season of “MasterChef.” How have you grown as a chef since then?

A) I have grown so much both personally and professionally since winning “MasterChef.”  I have so much more life experience from traveling the world and trying different cuisines. My love has always been desserts and continues to be as well. I love creating chef worthy cookies that have so much flavor in the cookie itself.  The flavor is in the actual cookie and not just what we mix into the dough. People can taste the difference!

Q) Would you ever return to the show in some capacity? (mentor, judge, etc.)

A) Being a judge would be fun. As I get older it is harder to compete, but I have always been a competitor at heart so bring it on. [laughs]

Q) You’re a member of social media. How does it feel being able to connect with fans and fellow foodies?

A) I love showing people behind the scenes of what it is like being a mom and the founder of a cookie company.  Both are a lot of work, but I love it. I hope to inspire entrepreneurs and moms out there.

Q) What would you like to say to your supporters?

A) I am so thankful for those who have followed along since 2010 when I won “MasterChef” as well as thought who first watched during the pandemic on Hulu. I continue to have people reach out who have just discovered my season. It’s fun reliving that time. It was very stressful but so rewarding.

I love being able to give people a taste of my cookies being that we ship nationwide. People can order at whitneyscookies.co or they can visit our cookie shop in downtown Franklin, TN just outside of Nashville.
