Young Sheldon – An Ankle Monitor and a Big Plastic Crap House
By: Sammi Turano
The episode opens with MeeMaw (Annie Potts) getting her ankle monitor and complaining. Dale (Craig T Nelson)says she cannot run due to a bad hip, while the cops give her warnings as to what will happen if she runs. She continues to complain about being stuck in the house and wonders what will happen if she shoots Dale. The male cop (Dean Sharpe) says as long as she is within 50 yards of the house she is okay.
Dale gives her puzzles and she asks if she will get shot if she runs now.
A little later, Dale and MeeMaw do a puzzle with her still complaining and him trying to comfort her. She throws a puzzle piece as Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) walk in, wondering where the baby is and what happened. Georgie wonders what will happen as Mandy worries about money. Dale tries to ease the mood by asking about Dollywood.
Sheldon (Iain Armitage) is studying for the law exam when George (Lance Barber) walks in. He explains what is happening and the case of a man who went nuts. Missy (Raegea Revord) walks in and says the toilet backed up. George goes to fix it and ends up with a mess.
The plumber (Greg Bryan) comes and says the septic tank is backed up. Missy says she isn’t going to college so they can use her college fund. She adds that it is gross that she ate the dirt and played in that yard. George asks the guy for a friends and family discount since they went to school together, but he refuses since George bullied him.
Mary (Zoe Perry) and Mandy wonder what will happen as Georgie and George look for a solution.
Dale and MeeMaw continue to do puzzles. He asks if she wants to get drunk and if she wants to go to the liquor store. She reminds him of the monitor and he promises to be back in a jiffy.
George and Georgie come back with a porta potty, much to everyone’s dismay. This leads to Mandy and Georgie going to Jim (Will Sasso) and Audrey’s (Rachel Bay Jones) with CeeCee. Audrey says she never harbored a fugitive before, upsetting Mandy.
Mandy and Georgie discuss the Audrey situation in their room (all while Mandy explains who the Osmonds are), while Jim and Audrey discuss it in the living room. Audrey wants to help Mandy come to her senses, while Jim wants to give Georgie a job. Georgie himself wants to get a job to support them and future children, including Georgie Jr. Jr…..not the third.
Sheldon tries to use the porta potty, but ends up peeing in the Sparks’s chicken coop.
The next morning, Georgie makes everyone breakfast. Audrey complains about him using eggs, so he offers to buy more as she complains about him not looking for a job. Jim tries to offer him a job, but Audrey shushes him.
Sheldon visits MeeMaw and Dale to offer his legal expertise. He thinks she should plead insanity, but she might get institutionalized. She assures him he is fine, while Dale says his friend’s nephew is going to help since he is more experienced.
Georgie comes back with groceries and says he applied for a job. Audrey continues to act condescending about the whole thing, while Mandy wonders what is wrong. He continues to help out, only to annoy Audrey even more. She begins to come around when she sees how well he is taking care of CeeCee, but it is ruined when he says CeeCee poops like him.
MeeMaw meets with her attorney (Nicholas Heffelfinger), who is much younger than expected. It turns out she will lose everything but could avoid jail time with community service and by taking a deal. She tries to find a way to keep everything, but there is no way since the cop flipped on her and everything she did was illegal. She takes the deal because no one wants to see a great-grandma in jail.
Mary sees MeeMaw taking money from a hidden place in her wall and confronts her. She needs it for her legal fees, but gives it to Mary for plumbing as Missy screams that there is a snake in the porta potty.
Georgie comes home and says he got a part time job at the grocery store. Jim offers him a job at the tire store, which he happily accepts. Audrey mumbles that they will see how well he will do, which Mandy and Georgie expected.
The episode ends with George tipping over the porta potty due to the snake.
