Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe my sound as country arena rock!

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I have a very wide range of musical influences that have contributed to my unique country crossover sound. Some of my biggest musical inspirations are Richard Marx, Shania Twain, Neil Diamond and The Beach Boys.

Q) Your new EP Reimagined is out now. What made you want to go acoustic with it?

A) The Reimagined EP was born out of my pandemic livestreams actually!  When viewers started requesting my songs performed in unique ways it sparked this whole idea and I am so grateful for that!

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Not Your Woman.”

A) “Not Your Woman” was written about a bad relationship that I was in. And when I sat down to rewrite a lot of the lyrics for the new version, I was very inspired by one of my best friends who recently left an abusive marriage. Her strength and resilience really resonated with me, and I thought a lot about her when I was recording the new version.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think it is probably that it is just raw and honest…just me and my piano telling a story.  I hope that people are connecting with the sincerity of the tracks and finding pieces of themselves within them.

Q) How does the video for the EP play into the message behind it?

A) I wanted the music video to be very simple, just like the EP, and I was so happy that we were able to achieve that vision.  I also wanted the lyrics to speak for themselves without too much production which is why we kept everything very pure and intimate.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My songwriting process is very “in the moment.”  I write everything all at one time and hear the entire song completed in my head as I go (drums, strings, etc.).  When I feel inspired, I sit down immediately and let out my emotions.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I am involved in every ounce of the process, from the beginning to the end.  It’s very important to me!

Q) This EP features only four of your incredible songs. What made you want to go with these specific tracks?

A) I wanted to go with these specific tracks because they were some of my most well-known songs, songs that I thought I could really change up and songs that I have seen truly connect with people at live shows.

Q) Were there any of your songs that you considered featuring as a piano ballad that didn’t make the cut?

A) Yes! Many! I thought so much about the selections and there were so many I wanted to include, but in the end, I narrowed it down to the four tracks that I thought would cover many different emotions and stories.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) This is so difficult to choose because I have toured in fifteen different countries and have loved them all for very different reasons. I would have to say, if I had to choose, that I especially love the north of France because it was my first international date, and it is so incredibly special to me.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Social media is so important to me because it is a direct line to understand better the people that listen to my music. I have been able to grow my career in so many wonderful ways using social media and have been really blessed to get to know so many amazing people from around the world that truly make a difference in my life!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you so much for all you do for me.  I wouldn’t be where I am without you and am so grateful for your support and love.
