At church, a priest (Charles Rahi Chun) approaches Garcia Flynn (Goran Visnjic) and Flynn tells him about his wife.  He expresses his frustration that no matter how much he has tried to get his wife back, things keep getting worse for him.  The priest suggests that maybe he should accept God’s plan and Flynn asks if he were to be able to change history would God try and stop him.  Jiya (Claudia Doumit) and Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett) watch as Rittenhouse takes over every aspect of Mason Industries.  Rufus assures her that everything will be fine before slipping a phone into her pocket.

Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer) joins them and Jake Neville (Jim Beaver) tells them that they will be traveling to 1962 to prevent Flynn from ever being born.  Lucy, Rufus and Jiya are all horrified about the prospect of murdering an innocent woman, but Neville tells them that their new companion, Caleb Sullivan (Liviu Rain), will be the one to pull the trigger.  Rufus asks Connor Mason (Paterson Joseph) how he can be okay with this, but he tells him that the woman gave birth to a monster.  Lucy and Rufus refuse, but Neville tells them that he will have them arrested for helping Flynn if they don’t carry out the mission.

Lucy goes to her locker and her father, Benjamin Cahill (John Getz), approaches her.  He tries to convince her that the murder will save history, but Lucy tells him to go to hell.  Cahill promises that if she carries out the mission, the next mission will be to get her sister back.  Lucy, Rufus and Sullivan buckle up for the mission and they take off.  When they arrive in 1962, Rufus shoots Sullivan with a tranquilizer dart and Lucy takes his gun before they take the machine back to the present.  Jiya tells Mason that they’ve lost the lifeboat and the computers go out.  Mason finds that Rufus has made a taunting graphic and realizes that they’ve stolen the lifeboat.  Jiya offers to help bring the computers back up, but Mason accuses her of working with Rufus and that she is not to be trusted due to her relationship with him.

Rufus and Lucy bring the lifeboat to the warehouse where Agent Denise Christopher (Sakina Jaffrey) and Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter) are waiting for them.  Lucy and Rufus assure Wyatt that they did what he told them to do and he is excited that the plan worked.  He drags Sullivan’s body out of the lifeboat and Lucy freaks out about being a fugitive.  Wyatt assures her it’s the right thing to do, as Rittenhouse can’t have access to the time machine.  Rufus calculates that they have a couple of hours and Wyatt tells Lucy that their first mission is to get her sister back.  Agent Christopher thinks it’s a reckless idea, but Wyatt reminds her that they don’t work for the government anymore.  Before they can go on the mission, they get notification that Flynn has jumped again.

In 1931, Flynn goes to speak to Al Capone (Cameron Gharaee) and shows him evidence of a tax evasion case being built against him.  Capone doesn’t believe that he will be arrested, but Flynn shows him a letter written by his accountant that proves that he plans to testify against Capone.  He thanks Flynn and tells him that he owes him a debt of gratitude.  Wyatt and Rufus argue over whether they should go after Flynn.  Rufus wonders if maybe they should let Flynn destroy Rittenhouse and if they are fighting the wrong battle.  Lucy points out that this might be their only chance to get her sister back before Rittenhouse finds them.  Wyatt reminds her that allowing Flynn to murder through time is a bad idea.

Rufus calls Jiya on the burner phone he left her and tells her to run interference and keep Mason and Rittenhouse off their backs as long as possible.  He apologizes for putting her in this situation and promises to explain everything later.  He tells her that he needs her and she makes him promise to return to her safe.  Neville is waiting for her and asks her who she was talking to.  She tells him she was talking to herself and Neville asks her to empty her pockets.  He searches her and then finds the phone in his search of the area.  Neville orders Agent Singer (Jagua Arneja) to take her away and lock her up.

Agent Christopher watches as the lifeboat travels to 1931.  Lucy comments on their inaccurate wardrobe and takes them to the courthouse.  Capone stands on the steps and gloats about the charges against him being dropped to the press.  Wyatt is surprised at how open he is with the press and Lucy tells him that he was a beloved public figure.  As Capone walks away, the time team spots Flynn leaving with him.  Lucy realizes that Flynn helped Capone escape charges.  A furious Eliot Ness (Misha Collins) walks out of the courthouse and punches a reporter who asks him about the case.

The time team approaches Ness and convinces him that they are private investigators.  Wyatt introduces himself as Connery, Lucy as Costner and Rufus as their driver, Robert Deniro.  They ask what he knows about Flynn and Ness tells them he doesn’t recognize him.  They tell him that they and Flynn aren’t from around here and Ness laughs at Rufus for wearing a women’s sweater.  Lucy tells Ness that Flynn is a notorious San Francisco gangster that William Randolph Hearst asked them to arrest.  Jiya bangs on the door asking for a bathroom break.  Neville and Mason come in and tell her that they couldn’t track the burner phone.  They ask where Rufus is and Jiya tells them that she doesn’t know.  They don’t believe her and Mason tells her to be bold.  Jiya tells them that she used to idolize Mason when she started working for him, but now she sees that he’s nothing but a coward.  Mason gives her an ultimatum: help them or go to prison.

At Ness’ house, he tells the team about the precautions he’s taken to protect himself from Capone.  Rufus asks him how he deals with his loved ones being in danger and Ness tells him that he wants his wife to be proud of him.  Lucy asks him where Capone is, telling him that they have to rush to apprehend Flynn and that Flynn is dangerous.  Ness argues that Flynn is no worse than Capone and Lucy agrees that they’re both bad.  Ness walks to the door believing that one of his men is on the other side.  One of Capone’s men shoots Ness through the door and the team ducks to avoid the gunfire.  The man runs out of bullets and Wyatt shoots him.  Lucy is horrified that Ness is dead and Wyatt knows that Flynn gave Capone Ness’ location.  Wyatt tells them that they need to keep moving and find another way to bring down Capone.

Outside, Wyatt hotwires a car and tells Lucy and Rufus a story of his instructor, who taught him to take things one problem at a time.  He asks Lucy how they can bring down Capone without Ness and she takes them to the house of Richard Hart (Mather Zickel), formerly known as Capone’s brother Jimmy, a prohibition officer.  Hart denies his real name, but Lucy continues to tell him the facts she knows about him.  He admits that his family doesn’t know his real name and asks whether Capone sent them.  They tell him that they need his help and Wyatt tells him that Capone murdered Ness.  Wyatt tells him that they need him to bring them to Capone as well as arrest him.

Capone has Mayor William Hale Thompson (Richard Portnow) brought in and introduces him to Flynn.  He punches the mayor and confirms that he is a member of Rittenhouse before telling that he has questions for him.  Hart refuses to arrest his own brother and Lucy tells him that Capone takes out newspaper ads looking for him.  She reminds him that he chose to be a cop and it was probably to right Capone’s wrongs.  She tells him that even though it’s hard, he has to do the right thing.  Flynn punches the mayor to get answers out of him and asks about the Rittenhouse meeting.  He tells him that Charvet told him about it years before.  Capone suggests using a baseball bat and the mayor tells him the meeting is for Rittenhouse members to get together and discuss the state of the organization.  The meetings happen every 25 years and the next one will be held in 1954.  Flynn pulls out his gun and Capone asks that he be taken to the docks so that he doesn’t mess up the carpet.  Capone thanks Flynn for all of his help and Flynn asks for one more favor.

Hart and the team go to Capone’s hotel and Hart recognizes Frank Galluccio (Paul Moniz de Sa) from his childhood.  After jogging his memory, Hart and Frank embrace.  Frank leads them to Capone, and Rufus remarks that they are “The Untouchables” now.  Jiya finds old computer equipment in the room she is locked up in.  She gets what she needs and sets up the computer.  She works furiously to hack the computer as Mason brings the main computers back up.  They find out that the team is in 1931, but Jiya shuts down the system again soon after.  Furious, Mason and Neville confront Jiya.  She doesn’t answer their questions, and tells them that she has to go to the bathroom.

Capone and Hart reunite and they embrace.  Capone asks who his companions are and Hart tells him that they are friends of his.  He questions Rufus’ presence, and he says that he is likable.  Capone deduces that they’re not from Chicago.  Hart asks about his scars and asks how he really got them.  Capone tells him that Frank hit him when he insulted his sister.  He offers Hart a drink and Hart reveals that he’s a prohibition officer.  Still, he accepts the drink.  Capone asks what he’s doing here after all of these years and Lucy says that they asked him to come.  Wyatt asks about Flynn, and Capone confirms he did a couple of favors for him.  They ask about Rittenhouse and he tells them about the meeting in 1954.  Capone asks the real reason Hart is there and Hart tells him that he’s here to bring him in.  Capone laughs and Hart insists that he can’t let him hurt any more people.

Furious, Capone can’t believe that his brother is turning his back on him.  He tells them that Flynn told him about the time team’s arrival and that Flynn asked him to kill Rufus so that he can’t follow him.  He takes out a gun and points it at Rufus, while Hart points a gun at Capone.  He is in disbelief that his own brother wants to arrest him and tells him that family is important.  Confident that Hart won’t shoot, he shoots Rufus.  Hart shoots Capone and Wyatt shoots Frank.  Lucy rushes to Rufus and tries to stop the bleeding.  Mason tries to bring the computer up and Cahill asks on his progress.  Mason points out that things will be faster if he can access the NSA farm software.  With the technology, he can pinpoint anyone anywhere at any time.  Realizing that they can’t bring Rufus to a hospital, Rufus asks to be brought to the lifeboat.  They pull him inside and climb inside.  He uses his remaining energy to attempt to bring them back to the present before he collapses.
