The episode begins with a dark dreary pan over the Los Angeles city as Henrietta (Aisha Hinds) recites a spooky monologue about the moon. We see her drive until it cuts to her siting on the beach crying. As her monologue ends we are taken back 24 hours earlier. Henrietta and her wife Karen (Tracie Thoms) get ready for bed. Karen offers to watch an episode of “Ray Donovan,” but Henrietta tells her that she needs to get some sleep. After a short argument over their relationship Henrietta promises her that she will rock her world the next evening.

Evan (Oliver Stark) enters an arcade in order to help a little girl who has gotten herself stuck in a claw machine in order to retrieve herself a stuffed pony. Evan rescues her with ease as the crowd that surrounded her cheers.

Evan calls Abby (Connie Britton) after her rescues the little girl and they chat about how he is feeling after his allergic reaction. He says he is feeling better on his first day back to work. Abby asks him when they are going to have dinner again. Evan says he doesn’t know but he will check his schedule. He tells Abby to buckle up for a full moon.  He continues to tell her that the freaks come out on a full moon. He begins to howl before Abby hangs up.

Abby receives a 911 phone call from an elderly woman who is panicked that a hooded man is standing outside her house. His face is hidden as he stands in a shadow staring at the elderly woman. The woman begins to have a panic attack as Abby sends help her way.

Athena (Angela Bassett) meet Henrietta and Howie (Kenneth Choi) at the elderly woman’s house. Henrietta and How attend to the elderly woman as Athena checks out the premise. Back inside the elderly woman gets checked out as she explains to Howie and Henrietta that the man gave her a fright as he just stood there. Henrietta tells her she was just having a panic attack and helps her get her breathing back under control. Henrietta kneels down to talk to the elderly woman when she catches a glimpse of Howie in the reflection of where the woman said she saw the man. She asks the woman if that was where she was standing when she saw the man. As the elderly woman replies yes Athena comes into the room to introduce herself and let the elderly woman know that whoever it was is gone. Henrietta informs Athena about what she saw and the foot prints she just saw in the house. Athena discloses that the man was actually in the house. Athena tells the elderly woman to call someone to stay with while she checks out the rest of the house. Meanwhile, Howie receives another call about a man in need of help in a dicey neighborhood. Athena offers to give them a police escort.  They leave the elderly woman after she thanks them all.

Abby receives another emergency call from a woman who has a man trying to break into her home.  The woman is hiding upstairs before the man breaks down her door and enters her room. Abby tries to guide the woman to stay safe but the man ultimately breaks down the bedroom door she is hiding in. Abby hears the woman scream before the call is disconnected.

Evan and Bobby (Peter Krause) debate the effects of a full moon on people as they walk into a call. Bobby thinks is just a myth. As they enter the building of their call they run into a yoga instructor who informs them that a pregnant woman is stuck in a yoga pose. Evan and Bobby try to help the woman by checking all her vitals. As they are about to tip her onto her side another pregnant woman starts to have contractions. Bobby tends to her before another pregnant woman’s water breaks. Evan calls for back up. Eventually three women go into labor and madness ensues.

Abby sits at work still disturbed by the call she was just on. Her coworker tries to comfort her and lets her know that a homicide detective is there to review the tape of her call with her. The detective reviews the tape and thanks Abby. He shares with her they already caught the guy but he has not confessed. The detective hoped he could hear the attacker on the tape so he would have evidence. After the detective leaves Abby pulls up old 911 calls from the same victim and tries to piece together evidence. She concludes from both tapes that it’s not the husband who killed her.

Athena, Howie and Henrietta answer the call from the dicey neighborhood to find a man unconscious. As screaming ensues in another direction Athena and Henrietta investigate. They come to find a man chewing on another man. When the crazy man gets up Athena shoots him with her tazer. It does little to effect the man as he continues to approach both women. Athena is forced to shoot him several times. As the scene wraps up everyone must give their statements about what had happened. As Henrietta waits to give hers her ex calls her telling her she has been released from jail. She tries to seduce Henrietta by telling her to come over. Henrietta tells her she is glad she is home but she has to go. Athena approaches Henrietta hearing the tail end of her phone call. She questions Henrietta about her marriage and the ex who called her. Athena leaves her with lasting advice to do something before a bomb goes off in her marriage like it did to Athena’s.

Back at the 911 headquarters Abby shares the other video she discovered with the homicide detective. He tells her that he thinks he already got the guy. The detective belittles her before leaving. Abby’s coworker tells her that he believes her and shows her something new he has discovered on the old tape. He discovered that their was a third voice on the recording. Abby thinks this new voice may be the killer.

Athena is briefed by a co worker about what the DA will do because of her encounter in the field.  As she gets to her desk Abby calls her to get more information about who the third voice might be. They trade horror stories about the full moon.  Before Athena discovers that the 911 call with the elderly woman earlier is linked to Abby’s 911 call.

Abby calls the daughter of the elderly woman to get more information on the woman that was killed. She daughter tells her that the woman had run a support group for domestic abuse survivors. Abby learns that the daughters ex husband knows the woman that was killed that night. The daughter looks out the window to realize that her ex husband has found her. Standing outside wielding a knife. He soon enters the house looking for her. As the ex husband enters the last room into the bathroom where he finds the elderly woman. He freezes before the daughter of the elderly woman beats him to death with a baseball bat. Abby calls out for the daughter before she answers Abby back that she thinks that he may be dead.

Abby receives a call where a man claims that something is inside him. Bobby and Evan soon arrive on scene to find the man in extreme discomfort locked in his own bathroom. His significant other explains that they just had sushi and that he was just having a stomach ache. Evan and Bobby continue to exam him before he has another episode of pain. They load him into the ambulance and drive him to the hospital. On the way the man feels something under his leg. Bobby and Evan turn him over to see a tapeworm making its way out of his behind. Bobby refuses to get it out and Evan steps up to the plate making fun of Bobby as he extracts the tapeworm from the mans behind.

As Abby gets ready to leave for the night the detective pays her a visit and apologizes for his behavior. He confesses he is impressed that she put all the pieces together and she says she just got lucky.

Athena calls Henrietta to let her know the crazy man who ate someone’s face was on nothing but alcohol. Henrietta hangs up the phone and shows up at her ex’s house.  She has a moment of reluctance before she hooks up with her ex.

Abby is in her kitchen when she hears a knock on the door. She sees Evan on the other side and opens it up. Evan tells her that he was on his way home but he found himself in a liquor store grabbing a bottle of wine and making his way over to her house. They make small flirty talk before they hook up.

The episode ends with another monologue from Henrietta as she sits on the beach in tears explaining that she must face what she has done in the light of day.
