Q) It was touched on a bit on the show, but how did you get into yachting?

A) Ten years ago I was peeling a 50lb bag of onions at a fancy hotel in La Jolla, CA when I got an email to interview on a boat.  I’d never stepped foot on a yacht before.  I immediately quit my job, interviewed and never looked back.

Q) What made you want to be a part of this season of “Below Deck Mediterranean?”

A) When I was approached to do “Below Deck Med,” after a decade of yachting, it just seemed like the next piece to the puzzle and I like puzzles.

Q) Were you a fan of the series before joining this season?

A) Yes, all yachties are secret or not so secret fans of the show. We were all blown away when the series began and instantly hooked.

Q) If so, who would you have liked to have seen return to sharing a ship this season and why?

A) I think seeing Bobby and Hannah come back for another season was important, given their prior history in Greece.

Q) Were there certain parts of your life you deemed off limits to the camera?

A) When you sign up for a show like Below Deck, the only thing off limits to the camera is the “poop deck.”

Q) Is there much of a difference serving under a female captain than a male captain?

A) Yes, the calming motherly energy of a female captain brought a whole new meaning to the word “team work.” When times got tough, she noticed and made an effort to calm us down… For example, she’d say, “Hey Adam, why don’t you go for a swim?”  I’d come back refreshed, clear headed and ready to rock.

Q) You seemed to have a rough relationship with Hannah. Was it her management style or being under such stress that caused you to butt heads?

A) Hannah and I had a rough season at times. I look at it as if we were brother and sister.  Lock us up in a boat for six weeks, stressed out, in tight quarters, working together; you can guess the outcome. We eventually found the good in one another.

Q) Talk about “onion-gate.” What made you feel comfortable going against the guests’ preferences?

A) Oh boy, not one of my finest moments as a chef. Ever have one of those days at work, when you just want to go out back and destroy the copy machine? That was my day, “when keeping it real goes wrong…”

Q) We saw you have some chemistry with Malia. Do you feel the close quarters heightened your feelings?

A) There was certainly chemistry between us, though I’m not sure the close quarters had anything to do with it.  I thought my arm fit nicely around her shoulder.

Q) What are some of your most memorable moments that you can tease from this season of “Below Deck Med?”

A) One of my most memorable moments from the show involved Hannah and I on a walk home and a couple of broken cocktail glasses…

Q) You are a part of social media. Have you been enjoying the instant fan feedback you have been receiving?

A) Having so many amazing and supportive fans came as quite the bonus. As for the folks that don’t have anything nice to say…Well, I probably deserved it.

Q) The fandom is very interested in your personal and professional life. How does it make you feel to have so many people invested in you and your future?

A) It’s so empowering to have this many people interested in my van life and yachting ways.  It was an alternative lifestyle that fit me perfectly for the past ten years. Yachting combined with van life was the perfect contrast like Yin and Yang.  Now, I want to use this new fandom to inspire people to do what they want with their lives, live abnormally and enjoy this incredibly short ride to the fullest.

Q) What is something that you want to be sure viewers know about you or that you’d like to clarify?

A) I’m a bit like a sour candy, at first I can make you wince, but wait a bit and you’ll soon find the sweet side.

Q) What do you want to be sure fans know about you and your time on “Below Deck Mediterranean?”

A) I came to provide the loyal viewers of the “Below Deck Mediterranean” series the most entertaining yachting season I possibly could, all from the confines of that tiny little galley.  It wasn’t always pretty, but it sure was fun to watch.

“Below Deck Mediterranean” airs Tuesdays at 9PM ET on Bravo
