Q) “Cobra Kai” is a spin off from the classic movies Karate Kid. I assume you are a fan of the movies? Did that have any impact in wanting to be part of the series?

A) I actually watched the movies after I got the part. After watching them I actually really liked them particularly Karate Kid 3. It definitely made me realize how big of a deal this is and got me super excited to be a part of it.

Q) What attracted you to play the role of one of the bad guys?

A) Originally, I auditioned for “Brucks” in the first season and then I ended up getting the role for Mitch in the second season. He wasn’t a bad guy at first but then kind of turned into one and now I think he’s kind of redeeming himself of that.

Q) How did you feel when they told you that Mitch would be switching sides?

A) They didn’t necessarily tell me. I was scared that I was getting kicked off of the show or something, but then the next episode they revealed that there was going to be another dojo and I thought that was a cool switch up.

Q) Do you prefer the bad boy or the good guy?

A) I kinda like playing the bad guy because it’s equally interesting and badass getting to play a character you aren’t really like in real life.

Q) How is it working with some of the original cast from the films?

A) It’s really cool working with them, especially getting to hear all the stories and jokes. And I got to see this awesome transformation of people and films happen.

Q) There are a ton of cameos in the third season. Was there anybody you specifically were excited to see?

A) I was excited to see Dee Snider, but we were on opposite sets, so I didn’t end up getting a chance to see him.

Q) How much training in karate did you have to do for this role?

A) I didn’t do much karate training, but I took it upon myself to do kickboxing, jiu jitsu, and taekwondo and sometimes before set we would have training days where it starts with a warmup and we would be taught by our stunt coordinators specific things we’d be shooting soon.

Q) How is this role compared to your other roles? Is it more challenging?

A) Not physically more challenging because the stunt coordinators help show me how to do the moves properly and for certain moves that I can’t do we have a stunt double to do it (flips).

Q) What future plans would you like to see for Mitch?

A) I’d have to say I’d want to see a re-match between Mitch and Kyler (Joe Seo), and some fight scenes with Chris (Khalil Everage) instead of against him.

Q) “Cobra Kai” has a great message about bullying. What do you think should be the great takeaway with that topic?

A) I think it’s important to understand to stand up for yourself and no matter what people say and do to belittle you, it is possible to come back from that and become better and stronger.

Q) You are a part of social media. What kind of fan feedback have you been receiving to this season?

A) I’ve gotten a lot more DM’s of people saying things like “what’s up ass face” or “penis breath.” It’s actually pretty funny.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and your work?

A) I love all the supporters and appreciate them so much. The feedback everything is getting is great and we wouldn’t be here without you all, so thanks for sticking with me and thanks for the support!
