Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I’m currently enjoying the summer and working on other business ventures; however, I am gearing up to shoot a feature film based on a true life story. I will be playing the wife of a Jewish mob boss.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the movie Xenophobia

A) One of our three directors, Thomas Churchill, initially approached me with the role of Melanie. I really like sci-fi, so I was excited about it! Having the chance to play a new type of character for me made me want to take the part as well. Melanie is someone who was holding onto a lot of pain from her past, but still got to be a bad ass! Such a fun and challenging combination to portray.

Q) How was your character originally described to you? Was there anything you added to your role that wasn’t initially scripted for you?

A) Melanie was described to me as a woman who was abused and endured a lot of pain from her ex-husband and his friends… I added some of my personal pain and disappointments, along with a southern accent! It just seemed to flow out when I was working on my parts.

Q) Were you looking forward to sharing a scene with anyone in particular?

A) I had known Kristen Renton prior to Xenophobia, as we were both featured on “Sons of Anarchy.” So, it was fun to have dialog with her again. All of the actors I worked with did an amazing job and were incredibly professional. Kelly Reiter – in particular – is not only a very talented actress, but she had me laughing all day in between takes!

Q) Talk about working with directors Joe Castro and Thomas J. Churchill. Was there any advice they offered you while filming that you took to heart?

A) Thomas directed me for the more intense parts of my role. He was really great at keeping us in character and keeping the vibe on set. Joe Castro was fantastic and was co-directing with Steven Escobar. Joe was not only directing his segment, but doing the special effects makeup, too! It was a wonderful team collaboration.

Q) What were some of your favorite scenes to film?

A) My favorite scene was the garage scene with my girls! We definitely put poor Mark [Hoadley] through it, but he was such a good sport.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the fan feedback you’ll be receiving to the movie?

A) I am very active on both Instagram and Twitter. I would love to hear from everyone, I’m looking forward to it!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and the work you do?

A) Thank you so very much for the support. I’m just getting started, so stay tuned
