The episode starts introducing one of the big villains of this season, Victor Szasz (Alex Morf), who is completing one of his Jobs as a hitman by killing a couple in a hotel with a lot of violence. He tells the wife that Safiyah Sohail (Shivaani Ghai) is the person paying for their death. He cleans the crime scene and proceeds to take off his shirt to document the two deaths with a knife cut on his body, which is already full of them.

The scene is followed by Ryan Wilder´s (Javicia Leslie) Batwoman duty as she jumps in on a guy that was selling a type of drug. She is still stumbling and trying to adapt to the suit. She tries to throw bat knives at the bad guys, but it´s not until the last one she´s able to hit him. Luke (Camrus Johnson) is not helping her very much, as he just reminds her that those are one grand a piece and that they don´t have an unlimited supply. But before she finishes the fight an alarm starts beeping and Luke asks if she has somewhere else to be. Ryan just flies away and into the parole counsel´s office, whom is celebrating Batwoman´s article on the news paper. She asks if she has already has a job and how every thing in general is going, Ryan says good and that´s the end of the scene.

The next thing we see is Ryan running into Mary´s (Nicole Kang) clinic saying she is about to receive a call and that the answers to the question she´s about to receive needs to be a yes. Indeed Mary does receive that call and it is Ryan´s counselor asking her is Ryan is working as a bartender at The Hold Up. Mary goes along with it and follows through. Mary is confused because since when can parolees work in a bar. She finds out the counselor is making an exception because Ryan cannot get a job, so this is good because it will detract people´s attention from thinking you´re you know who affirms Mary. She also thinks it´s a great idea as they would be together all the time. “All the time,” Ryan asks. She thought that Batwoman is being replaced at the moment, but only until Kate returns; however, Mary is not so sure.

We go to the crows headquarters and Jacob (Dougray Scott) is trying to crack Kate´s cellphone password. He says Sophie (Meagan Tandy) may know it and asks where she is. So, we travel to an island where Sophie and Alice (Rachel Skarsten) wake up next to each other. Alice tell her she pissed off Safiyah. Sophie asks how does she know her, but a better question by Alice is, “How do you know her? Tatiana (Leah Gibson) shows up and takes Alice to her, leaving Sophie under her watch.

Back to Victor´s hit jobs. He is completing a job at a laboratory where he kills two guys, which goes back to the Batcave. The whole team is there watching the footage and Ryan asks Mary that she´s basically a millionaire. It turns out she is actually a multi millionaire because she sold her shares from Hamilton Dynamics to which Ryan has a better statement: “If you´re a multi billionaire why am T only making $12.50 an hour at “The Hold Up?” Mary has no response.

The conversation comes back to Victor. Apparently, Ryan knows him and knows the circle he moves in. Luke is not happy with this information, but Mary tries to see it as a good thing because it means that they already have more information on him, so they come up with a plan to get a meeting with him, but it´s going to cost Mary a few thousand dollars.

We circle back to the island. Safiyah is welcoming Alice and sort of trying to figure out why Alice has been messing with her plans and gave up the island´s location. Alice responds, “A wise woman once taught me, it´s not worth sending a message if it´s not loud.” And Safiyah says that Alice was always her best student. But Alice does not want to hear it. She blames her for the plane crash Kate was on, so she jumps on her and they start fighting. Alice says she took everything from her. Safiyah replies, “Because I gave you everything- just like I’ll give you your sister.” She pulls out Kate´s necklace and insists, “If I blew Kate´s plane with her inside, how could I possibly have this?”

We follow Batwoman crashing into Victor´s department. She sees his computer and takes the USB attached to it, but did not expect to find him there. She is trying to throw another bat knife, but apparently she ran out. She tries to use another weapon, the baton, but cannot get it to work immediately. Victor sarcastically asks if he can make a drink while she tries to get a hold of her weapons. He says she does not seem very comfortable with the suit, like she´s trying to pass for somebody else. It was all to distract her because he takes out a missile from behind the bar and fires it at her. Ryan says, “Hell no,” and jumps out the bulding.

Ryan comes up with another plan to try and stop Victor as Ryan and not as Batwoman. She meets up with him and tells him that she dated Angelique Martin. He is surprised she´s her ex and it seems has heard of her. He apologizes for overstepping and says he´s a sucker for lesbian drama. Ryan says she was bad for her. “That´s how you know it´s love he tells her.” Back to the plan, Ryan is giving him the money to kill Alice because she killed her mom, but it looks like there is already some money behind her as he won´t do it and leaves.

At the Batcave Luke is opening up the USB recovered from Victor´s house and they find a list with names. So, it may be a hit list, but they later discover that is the people that got the antidote from last week´s episode from the poisonous bats.

At the island Tatiana is talking to Sophie and tells her that Alice is not loyal and that she betrayed her. Sophie asks her how and gets the answer, “By leaving the island.” It seems  that´s apparently the only rule they follow. Sophie takes it as a distraction and tries to escape, so they start fighting. Alice and Safiyah are having a conversation about how she exposed the island and gave the plant with magic curative properties they are protecting to the citizens of Gotham. Alice she says she did not do that, but that she only gave the Rose to one person.

Luke and Mary are sort of getting into an argument. She asks him what his problem with Ryan is, but he says he has none. She asks what his problem is with her, but Luke insists that it´s the fact she she´s helping Ryan and making it look like she´s keeping the suit permanently and not just until Kate comes back. Except she´s not, Mary abruptly tells him. But Mary goes back to the clinic and is given some results from a cancer patient she was treating earlier. It seems the cancer is completely gone, which has to be impossible. And Mary is on Victor´s  list because he shows up and kills one of her employees then starts chasing her. Ryan arrives just in time and gets in between Mary and Victor. “New look,” he notes. “New Batwoman,” says Ryan.

We go back to the island one more time for this episode. Safiyah insists she did not blew up Kate´s plane and she promises to tells her where she is; however, she needs Alice to do a job before she does it. They go to Sophie and Tatiana and stop the fight they were having and knock out Sophie again.

The end of the episode is almost like the beginning. Alice and Sophie wake up a bit confused next to each other in the back of an alley. “Why am I alive,” asks Sophie. “Yeah, that´s not good,” Alice confirms. If Safiyah spared her it means she has a crush on her, which is good until it´s not. Alice then gets up and attempts to leave, but Sophie reminds her that she is still under arrest. However, if she takes her away she won´t be able to complete the job she was asked and they won´t get Kate back.  So, she goes back to the crows headquarters to Jacob and tells him that she thinks Kate is alive.

We get a bit of a resolution to Luke´s conflict with Ryan. He goes to The Hold Up and apologizes to Ryan. However, she understands as he misses Kate, but Ryan insists that he has to give her a chance. So ,he gives her a new bat knife as a present.
