The episode starts on a sad note. It´s Kate´s (Wallis Day) funeral. At least the goodbye that was prepared by her family. The gang is there: Mary (Nicole Kang), Sophie (Meagan Tandy), Luke (Camrus Johnson), Julia (Christina Wolfe) and Jacob (Dougray Scott). We hear a voiceover by Ryan (Javicia Leslie) as a thank you for Kate goes on. She leaves The Desert Rose from Coryana as an offering at the Batcave, the place she found herself and sort of reaffirms that she´s Batwoman. Jacob gives a brief eulogy, while the others try to contain their sadness.

We meet this season´s latest villain Black Mask (Peter Outerbridge). He has Kate´s body in a cage. Apparently, he has big plans for her. Commissioner Forbes (Cameron McDonald) is being questioned about Snakebite. It seems they are not denying any extra help from vigilantes. He is questioned by a young activist named Jordan (Keeya King) regarding four unarmed black men that were killed by the Gotham police. However, he´s not very interested and tells her that it´s an elected position and if she does not like him she should run.

On a lighter note, Ryan and Mary are having breakfast. She thanks Ryan for being there through the last couple of weeks and Ryan thanks her for saving her life, but they are interrupted by a knock on the door. It´s Angelique (Bevin Brue). She comes to apologize and tells her she misses her. She´s fighting for Ryan as she´s getting out because she was asked to run a drug lab.

Alice (Rachel Skarsten) is having some sort of psychotic break because she´s seeing Young Kate (Gracyn Shinyei) while having a tea party. She´s in some fantasy created so she does not have to deal with the grief of losing Kate. That may be an emotion she´s not familiar with and is scared that if she feels it she won´t know what to do. Young Kate says that she may have a way to make it disappear.

The team is watching a video of the commissioner being gunned down at the stairs of the police department; however, it has been tampered with and they are able to find the only witness of the incident. Mary asks Ryan about Angelique and if she is going to take her back, but before she responds they are interrupted by a hit on the witness name. It´s Jordan Moore, who´s already inside Sophie´s car asking for help. She´s being followed but refuses to testify. However, they are also interrupted by some men trying to kill Jordan, until Batwoman shows up to help. Jordan describes the people she saw shoot the Commissioner, but one of those descriptions fit Angelique by what Ryan can gather. Ryan goes to see Angelique asking her what was she thinking. Angelique says that she was going to be able to leave if she did a last thing, driving the getaway car for the commissioner´s killer. She explains that she did not know that until she was there. Ryan tries to convince her to turn in the killer, but Angelique won´t do it. However, this interferes with the bat team because they are trying to get her to turn in Angelique. Mary says that she will call the cops herself if she does not turn herself in.

Jordan takes Sophie to The Hold Up. Ryan is working right now. Sophie introduces her little sister. It seems Jordan does not think a lot of Batwoman, even though she saved her life. But Jordan only sees her as a another vigilante. Sophie´s mom told Jordan that she´s gay.

Batwoman goes looking for Angelique, but someone beat her to it. Black Mask already has her hostage and he kills someone in front of her. When Batwoman shows up they also take her prisoner and tie her up to a giant saw.  However, Sophie is there just in time to save her since she got an SOS from Luke.

Angelique is taken into custody the the crows; however, instead of testifying she confesses that she killed Forbes – even though this is not true. Sophie goes to talk to Ryan and gives her the bracelet that Angelique had. Ryan is upset that Sophie did not stop her. We learn that the reason she took the fault is because Black Mask is threatening Ryan and she was not willing to risk her.

At the end of the episode, Black Mask takes someone to Kate´s body. Enigma (Laura Mennell) ntroduces herself, takes the ruby necklace and says, “It´s time to say goodbye to Kate Kane.”
