Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) To be honest The Katydids are producers, writers and actors on “Teachers,” so I really haven’t had time to work on any other projects. But I’m so excited for Season 3 of “Teachers!” My other project is my 9 month old baby.

Q) What is new this season on “Teachers?”

A) “Teachers” is a character driven comedy and this season we get to learn more about the teacher’s pasts and how their lives also are moving forward. We will meet some of their family members, see a death, an engagement, a break up and a birth!

Q) As the season progresses, how might dynamics flip or switch?

A) As I mentioned, the teachers’ lives are moving forward. I don’t want to give any spoilers but this season we will see what happens with Hot Dad (Ryan Caltagirone) and Ms. Bennigan (Katie O’Brien) and Toby Pearson (Tim Bagley) and Ms. Watson’s (Kate Lambert) relationships. We’ll also see Ms. Snap (Katy Colloton) try to develop herself and get woke.

Q) Where do you and your character connect, if at all?

A) Ms. Cannon is based how I was in college. I was very into wearing ethnic jewelry and mumus. I wanted to be a teacher so that I could change the world. I still want to make the world a better place, but I’ve become much more jaded and materialistic since then.

Q) Who is the most like their character? Who’s the least like their character?

A) [laughs] This is a tricky question because I don’t think anyone would want to be like any of these women. I’ll take the bullet and say I’m the most like my character. I think Katy Colloton is the least like her character. She’s the sweetest person in the world, nothing like Ms. Snap.

Q) Is there room to improv at all or do you tend to stick solely to the script?

A) We’re on such a tight shooting schedule that sadly we don’t have a ton of time to improvise on set. But we do get to every now and then. We do more improvisation in the writer’s room when we’re working out dialogue for scripts.

Q) You have great comedic timing. Is it something that has always come naturally to you or have you had to work at it?

A) Thanks! Hmmmm, that’s an interesting question. I think it’s something that I’ve had to work on. I don’t have any acting background, so I took a couple of on camera acting classes when we started doing the show. Acting on camera is much, much different than improvising so yes, I’d say I’ve had to work at it.

Q) What are some moments fans can look forward to this season on “Teachers?”

A) We’ve got a lot of fun stuff! We do an episode where we parody “The Walking Dead” with a lice outbreak at Fillmore. You’ll see the teachers show their talents at a talent show! Ms. Cannon tries to learn how to drive.

Q) Who are some guest stars we will get to see this season?

A) I’m a big comedy nerd and it was a dream come true to work with such legends as Michael Hitchcock, Kyle Kinane and Natasha Leggero. Haley Joel Osmet is back as Damien!

Q) What makes the series such a perfect fit for TV Land?

A) Because TV Land has rebranded itself they were really open to us basically having creative control. For better or worse, “Teachers” is the voice of The Katydids.

Q) What do you think it is about the show that has made it such a fan favorite?

A) I think that because we’re a group of female friends a lot of the stories we tell are relatable. They come from experiences that we’ve had dating, in the work place or between each other.

Q) You are a part of social media. Do you enjoy the instant fan feedback you receive to episodes?

A) I do! I love hearing what the fans responded to. I try to live tweet the episodes. Tweet me @caitlin__barlow! I’m also on Instagram @caitlingb. You can see behind the scenes pictures of making “Teachers” and also pictures of my baby!

Q) Is there anything else you want to be sure fans know about “Teachers” and your character?

A) Tune into new episodes starting June 5th 10:30/9:30c after “Younger!”

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thanks so much for supporting us! We’re a bunch of nobodies and it means a lot that you like what we do!
