Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe my sound as powerful.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Some of my influences are Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion and Khalid.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “I Will Survive.”

A) I will survive is about my son and how he has taught me through all of the wonderful memories what life is really about. “I owe it all to you my darling. You helped me realize, I will survive” – you really can survive through the hardest times.

Q) How did becoming a new mom inspire the words and the emotions behind it?

A) Becoming a mom literally changed my life. I got pregnant when I was 19 and I wasn’t in the best position in my life. I turned everything around and became who I am today. Being a mom showed me that even on your darkest day you can be strong.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think fans connect to the upbeat tempo and the meaning. Being a parent is really a huge blessing.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video of “I Will Survive” shows the fun of being a parent. Rushing to get up and get ready in the morning. Spilling milk when you’re hurrying to make breakfast. Nerf gun wars and game nights. Messy houses 24/7, but at the end of the day when you tuck your little one into bed, you just feel so much love and happiness.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My song writing process is really all over the place. Sometimes an idea will pop into my head. Other times I’ll need music and a concept before I can come up with anything.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I have a huge part in creating my music. From how I feel the beat should sound down to the details of the story line and even the music video!

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) I am currently working on my second album! I’m a perfectionist, so I’m always revising something! But I’m hoping to release it later this year!

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) Some of my favorite places to perform are New Hampshire and Boston. I am from there, so it just feels like I’m back home and my family gets to come out to the shows! Of course, Nashville because this is where I’m currently located, and I love all the local support. Can’t forget Florida! Your girl LOVES the beach.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I have a few people in mind! My big dream collab would be Khalid.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Social media gives my fans a glimpse of my life. You get to see my favorite outfit. Something funny that happened. Pictures of me on stage. My sons being his hilarious self. It’s really a way to feel more personal!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I really want to thank everyone for making all this possible. Without anyone listening to my music I would be singing in my bedroom to my phone. It means the world to me to hear your stories of how my music has resonated to you. I’m so very grateful. Hang on because there’s so much more to come!!
