Q) It is known that your entry to the music industry was as a pop artist, and then, years later, with the successful release of “Where You Left Off” as your first solo country single, your career took a different turn. What made you decide to continue on this path and explore the country music world?

A) I’ve always had this love for country music. I grew up on Toby Keith and Martina McBride. It’s been a part of me since I was little. But I also love many other genres. When we created “Where You Left Off” it just came so naturally. My heart and soul are into making music that means something and is true to how I’m feeling in that moment. I don’t necessarily feel I need to be bound to one genre. Isn’t that the beauty of music? We can create our own story through sounds so let the creativity flow.

Q) What do you think are some of the main musical influences that have contributed to your musical growth?

A) Being around such talented writers and artists like Struggle Jennings and JD Huggins has helped me grow so much as an artist

Q) “You Were Right” it’s a powerful ballad that is opposite to what we usually expect to find on these types of songs, it encloses the feelings of recognizing our own mistakes in a failed relationship.  What inspired this single?

A) Looking at the things I could’ve done better and accepting my own faults and how they played a part in my own past relationships encouraged me to write a song from the other perspective instead of putting the blame on them. In order to have growth you have to take accountability.

Q) Every artist has their very own way of shaping up their music, in this case, how could you describe the process of creating “You Were Right?” Did you come up with the lyrics and then find some music to compliment it?

A) I had just sat in my car driving to pick up my son(my car is my meditation spot). I started thinking about things in my past I could have done differently. One thing specifically was treating someone I dated better. I remembered them saying they didn’t deserve being treated the way I treated them, and I could have made every excuse to justify but honestly… he was right.

Q) You have been working closely with Struggle Jennings for a while now and have also joined his record label, what makes working with him so special to you and how this partnership has added to your career?

A) Struggle lets me have creative freedom to create what I’m feeling at that time. He is an amazing writer and I enjoy making music with him. He is like a father figure and best friend all in one who encourages me to be me and all though he is an artist as well he wants nothing more than for me to sore high. I am grateful for the opportunity he has given me and the vision he sees for my career longevity.

Q) I know you have been part of Jelly Roll’s Backroad Baptism Tour along with Struggle Jennings. What this collaboration has meant to you and your career?

A) It was so exciting and an amazing opportunity that I’m so grateful for. Not only did I open for fourteen of the shows, I also was brought out for songs with Struggle Jennings on his set, so I had the pleasure of being on the entire tour. The highlight of the tour was definitely the unexpected Invite from Jelly Roll to perform “Simple Man” on select dates. It definitely strengthened my courage of performing each night in front of thousands to upward of twenty thousand some nights. I gained new fans and gave the day one performances to remember.

Q) Who would you love to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Bryan Adams. I had the opportunity to meet him at The Bridgestone in Nashville.

Q) I’ve read that your new album is set to be released in 2024 and we couldn’t be more excited about it. What can you share with us about the themes you’ll be exploring on it?

A) It’s going to be a great project with a lot of fun songs and some heart break songs. There will be something for everyone. I’m super excited and ready for the world to hear my first Country Album.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes them so significant to you?

A) I really enjoyed the Arena’s that we performed at on the Backroad Baptism Tour. Honestly, every place we performed was insane. The energy from everyone was top notch!!

Q) Which song(s) do you continue to enjoy playing live?

A) I have a song called “Been Thru Hell” that is fun to perform. I’m not a professional dancer, but you can catch me showing off a couple moves. Also, “God We Need You Now” will be one I will always enjoy – to see the crowds reactions when I hit the high notes but the best part is to hear the crowd sing along with me.

Q) What advice would you offer to musicians who are up and coming in the industry?

A) To never give up. We all go through things. There will be ups and downs. Believe in yourself because nobody else will.

Q) What would you like to say to fans and supporters of you and the music that you make?

A) I am so grateful for my fans and supporters and appreciate the opportunity they give me to be able to write and perform from the heart. You never know how someone is going to resonate to your songs, but I’m honored to perform for each person that comes to a show, buys a meet and greet, faithfully listens to my songs and shares my music.
