Q) Were you familiar with the series at all before joining “Wynonna Earp?”

Chantel: I knew about it because of Shamier [Anderson]. We’re really good friends so he talked about it. I hadn’t really watched SYFY shows until I saw “Wynonna Earp.” The writing team is ridiculous. I can see why the fandom is where it is at.

Q) What has it been like meeting the fans for the first time?

Chantel: So wonderful! Everyone is as nice as they told me they would be. They’re so sweet and they are just so excited for the show and to have me on board. I was actually really nervous. I remember tweeting that I was legit nervous for you guys to actually see this. Because I’d be a new character on an established show you never know how everyone is going to take it.

Q) Will we get to know more about your character’s backstory?

Chantel: Yes. [laughs] You can’t show up out of nowhere and not expect a backstory! You’ll get little details.

Q) You have great chemistry with Tim Rozon. Talk about working with him.

Chantel: Do we? He’s disgusting. Him with that mustache? Who does he think he is?! [laughs] No, I love Tim. How could you not love this guy? I feel like Tim is one of those guys who has great chemistry with everyone. I just love the guy. We had a lot of fun on set. When we had downtime in Calgary we all hung out. I found it very important that when you work on a show that you get some time off from the show to just kick it and get to know each other and find that love for each other outside of set so when you come to set you aren’t like, “I hate you.” [laughs] So, we had a chance to do a lot of that and Tim is so loveable.

Q) What kind of weapons will we see you working with?

Chantel: Oh yeah! I got a gun, yo! I got a gun, yo! That’s all I can say. I can’t say why I have a gun or how I use that gun.

Q) What was it like playing a vampire?

Chantel: It was so cool! It’ something that I never even thought I’d be able to do. So, it just came up with the show and I thought, “Hey, let’s try this. It’ll be a new challenge for me. I got to wear a gold grill, which was so dope. I got to bite a couple people, which was kind of weird. It was really cool. It was totally a different direction from what I’m currently working on with “Frankie Drake Mysteries.” But it was good. It is fun that way!

Q) We loved the scene with Kate and Doc on the bus!

Chantel: Yeah, I feel especially with Kate she’s very sexy. So, I got to bring out my sensual side. I also tease Doc a little bit, too. You saw the leg! Boom! That was my acting choice. [laughs]
