Christian James – Never Said Sorry

Q) How would you describe your sound?

 

A) I would describe my sound to be somewhat acoustic, although other songs on this EP aren’t so much.

 

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

 

A) Ed Sheeran is definitely one of my biggest influences for music.

 

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Never Said Sorry.”

 

A) “Never Said Sorry” is honestly just the beginning of it. I haven’t really had to deal with heartbreak before. So, going through that I thought to myself some of the things I did wrong and what caused it.

 

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

 

A) I think many people can relate to heartbreak and they know they’re not alone. It happens, it’s just how life is.

 

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

 

A) Most of the time, I figure out what I want to write about. Then, producers and I will pick up guitars and play until we find something that captures that feeling. Once we get it tracked, we start coming up with melodies and lyrics that fit that. From there we just record the vocals and have the teamwork on further production!

 

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

 

A) I usually don’t get too much involved in the production of a song. Lately; however, I’ve been working on coming up with chord progressions on the piano and guitar, which impacted a lot of the production in the EP.

 

Q) What can fans expect from a live Christian James performance?

 

A) They could expect an acoustic set as well as a little bit of a dance party.

 

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

 

A) Full EP on the way!

 

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

 

A) Performing really anywhere in a nice acoustic room really is my favorite to perform in.

 

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

 

A) I would love a collab with Ed Sheeran.

 

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

 

A) LANY, they are too relatable.

 

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

 

A) Social media just allows me to respond to fans that comment or DM me. I love when they reach out and I always try to respond to as many as I can. We’re here to support each other.

 

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

 

A) I’m always here for you and I can’t tell you truly how blessed I am to have supporters.
