Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) After we wrapped with “The Last Ship” I worked on a pilot for NBC called “The InBetween” and we got picked up. So, I’m starting to work on that project that is premiering 2019. It is a very exciting show to be on and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Q) What can you tease is new this season of “The Last Ship?”

A) I can only say that “The Last Ship” fans won’t be disappointed at all.

Q) How was your character Conchita Barros originally described to you?

A) I don’t remember exactly how it was described, but as soon as I read it I understood her. She’s strong and tough, but we all don’t manifest it the same way. I think I just got exactly who she was and what really moved her.

Q) Was there anything you added to her that might not have been in the initial character breakdown?

A) I always try to add something to the character. In this case I added a lot of background story for her and purpose.

Q) Were you a fan of the series before joining the cast?

A) Yes, I always liked the show and loved that every season was different. It has a little bit of everything that I like in a show.

Q) Who were you most looking forward to sharing a scene with on the show?

A) Maurice Compte who plays Tavo is now my favorite actor.

Q) Talk about working with costar Eric Dane.

A) Unfortunately, I didn’t have any scenes with him but I got a chance to meet him.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from filming “The Last Ship?”

A) My most memorable moment was working with such an amazing crew and cast. I couldn’t have asked for a better scene partner than Maurice Compte.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant fan feedback you will receive to episodes?

A) It’s always fun to interact with fans of the show. I enjoy it.

Q) What do you hope viewers take away from watching this final season of the show?

A) When you work on a show like this one and see all the hard work that it takes to make and all the energy invested in it you just hope that people enjoyed it and had fun watching it.

Q) You often taken on dramatic roles. Is there something about this genre that draws you to these kinds of roles?

A) There’s not one specific genre I rather do. But I do love playing strong women and telling their stories. I was raised by a very hard working, generous, tough, loving and compassionate woman – my mother. These are some qualities I look for in a role and I’m honored to speak for all these beautiful strong women I grew up around.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and the work you do?

A) I wake up with a grateful heart every day and I can only thank everyone who supports me.
