Cristine Prosperi – Murdered at 17
By: Jamie Steinberg
Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?
A) Since finishing Murdered at 17, I’ve been living back in LA pursuing my dream. I’m constantly on my audition grind! Recently, I just wrapped a Christmas movie, which will be coming out during the holidays.
Q) Your latest project is the Lifetime movie Murdered at 17.
A) Just like any other film/tv series, I had to audition! I had to do something called a selftape, where you record yourself doing the audition and send it off, and then hope for the best!
Q) Lifetime movies have their own special flair and style. Did you watch any of the other movies (like Accused at 17, Betrayed at 17, Stalked at 17, etc. ) before shooting this?
A) I have to say I love a good Lifetime movie! They have so many twists and turns! I’m constantly watching them on TV.
Q) Talk about working with costars Susan Walters and Blake Burt.
A) I loved working with Susan and Blake! When you’re working on a film, I don’t think people realize how much time the actors actually have to spend together! So, it’s important to have cool and talented people around you! I loved Susan as she reminded me of my own mom, and in between takes we were always chatting about something! And Blake was awesome, too! It was so cool to see his process in committing to such a creepy character.
Q) What advice did director Curtis Crawford offer during filming that you took to heart?
A) Curtis! He was such a father figure on set! I’m so lucky to have worked with him. I always felt so comfortable and never afraid to ask him anything! I think his sets are so fun and full of energy!
Q) What was the tone of the set? Was it as intense and serious as the movie?
A) The tone was exact opposite! When you’re dealing with such a heavy storyline, you want to let that all go between takes. We had so much fun on this set and that was all thanks to the crew! We were always getting a drink after work. One night we even did karaoke!
Q) What were the most fun and the most challenging parts of this role?
A) Fun: crying and being scared all the time
Challenge: crying and being scared all the time lol! As an actor is fun to play those things but also very exhausting!
Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant fan feedback you’ll receive to the movie?
A) Yes! Whenever a Lifetime movie premieres, Twitter is the best place to follow along! I can’t wait to see everyone’s responses.
Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your projects?
A) THANK YOU! It’s because of you I get to do what I love as a JOB.
