All the Legends are on board the Waverider as Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) explains how rings for the Loom was hidden. In a flashback it is shown that Charlie asked Enchantress (Samantha Cole) to do this, but doesn’t know where they were hidden as they just disappeared in Enchantress’ hands. Zari (Tala Ashe) suggests that Constantine (Matt Ryan) uses his magic to find the location of the final ring, but he warns it could take months because of Enchantress’ power. Zari refuses to accept that and tells him to figure it out because they need the Loom in order to bring Behrad back to life.

In the galley Zari is looking at the air totem she now wears. Nate (Nick Zano) comes in and says that he’s there to talk with her about Behrad if she needs to, but she says she’s fine. Zari explains that she met the other Zari on her totem journey and she could tell how she felt about Nate. As Nate and Zari start to get closer, about to kiss, Constantine comes by and says that he has something to find the third Loom piece.

Constantine takes the Legends to his house so he can perform a summoning spell for the ring, by using everyone’s energy. Before the spell, Sara (Caity Lotz) is in the kitchen feeling unwell after she was hit by Atropos (Joanna Vanderham). She starts to slip out of temporal phase, seeing a few seconds into her future of her pouring herself a drink. Charlie comes in and asks if she’s all right. Sara says that she’s good. When Charlie warns that Sara being hit by the power of Atropos could have side effects, Sara insists that she’s fine.

Constantine has the others and Gary (Adam Tsekhman) gather around a pentagram on the floor to all join hands and to summon an image of the ring. As he starts, Sara looks over to Ava (Jes Macallan) and sees a future Ava run behind her and Sara collapses. Charlie and Ava go to her while Zari and Constantine reach for the image of the ring. They both jump through a magical portal in the floor and out of the ceiling into the house in the past.

A woman comes out and assumes that Constantine and Zari are guests. She introduces herself as Mrs. Hughes (Marison Eisman) and apologizes for keeping them waiting. Constantine realizes from a sign that the home was a boarding house. A man named Dr. White (Timothy Lyle) arrives and Constantine claims that Zari is his wife. She says that she isn’t his wife, but Mrs. Hughes says that she doesn’t let unmarried couples sleep in the same room. Zari has no choice but to play along and says that she and Constantine are engaged. As they leave Dr. White glares after them.

Zari and Constantine look around the room and Constantine asks if she can use her air totem. Constantine casts a spell to find the ring and the magical trail leads through to Dr. White’s room. Constantine suggests that Zari “influences” him out. She knocks on his door and asks him to give her a check-up as she fakes a cough. Zari suggests that they go down to the sitting room and White agrees and goes with her.

Once Zari and Dr. White go to the sitting room he notices that she isn’t wearing a ring. He talks about how no one remembers his face and says that her case is worse than he thought so they should go back to his room. Zari quickly excuses herself, saying that she’s cured, and goes upstairs. Behind her Dr. White takes a scalpel out of his medical bag and follows her.

Zari goes to Dr. White’s room to find Constantine who located cutting instruments laid out on the bed. Dr. White comes in behind her, still holding the scalpel, and suggests that they begin the examination. She backs away from him and Constantine jumps out from behind the door. He knocks Dr. White’s head into a bedpost and tells Zari that Dr. White is Jack the Ripper and an Encore.

Back on the Waverider Charlie and Ava took Sara to the Medbay where Gideon (Amy Louise Pemberton) says that Sara is suffering unusual activity in the region of the brain that processes time. Ava worries to Charlie that the team isn’t going to survive another encounter with Atropos.

Ava and Charlie join Gary and Nate on the bridge as they use the Prognosticator to track the Encores. All of the Encores are moving through time and space toward the same particular place. Ava has Gideon project the Encores’ paths, figuring that Astra (Olivia Swann) is sending them after Constantine. Gideon reports that the Prognosticator can’t track them. Ava figures that they have to go after Astra and stop her themselves using the Encore-killing sword.

Constantine also figures that Astra sent the killer after him. He admits that he didn’t find the ring and something is interfering with his magic. The front doorbell rings and four people come in and tell Mrs. Hughes that they need accommodation. Secretly watching, Constantine and Zari realize that they’re Encores.

Ava and Gary travel to Hell with Mick (Dominic Purcell) while Nate and Charlie track down Constantine and Zari after fixing the Prognosticator. Gary reports that the portal to Hell is ready and that all he has to do is drink demon blood. He does so and explains that after four hours in Hell they’ll be transported automatically back to the ship.

At the boarding house Constantine and Zari retreat to their room and Zari suggests that the Encores are after the ring. Constantine realizes that she might be on to something. Constantine tells Zari to stay there while he goes to supper to figure out what the Encores want. Zari refuses to stay behind, saying that the original Zari is in the air totem to protect her. Constantine still refuses to let her come and puts on Dr. White’s clothes to disguise himself.

The Encores are in the lounge comparing notes about how they suffered in Hell. Present are Henry VIII (Chris Gauthier), Clyde Barrow (Ben Sullivan), Bonnie Parker (Abby Ross), Black Caesar (Sean Millington) and Brutus (Peter Ciuffa). Mrs. Hughes invites them into the dining room.

Charlie, Ava and Mick find Astra at the bar in a club and the bouncer tosses Gary in, saying he was lurking outside. Gary tells Astra that Constantine is outside and has the ring he promised her. He asks her to come out and get it and she goes with him. Ava grabs Astra and talks about the Encores. Astra says that she hasn’t sent any Encores to Earth since she and Constantine last spoke. Mick and Ava are ready to kill her, but Gary suggests that Astra might be telling the truth. Astra invites them inside so she can prove she’s telling the truth.

Constantine introduces himself as Jack the Ripper at the dinner table, as they discuss that they’re there for the ring. Henry VIII figures that they’re all in competition since they were offered free reign on Earth if they obtained the ring. All the Encores turn on each other pointing guns and knives on as Constantine figures they all have a hell weapon.

Zari comes in wearing Egyptian garb and greets her “subjects” saying she’s Cleopatra. She convinces everyone to lower her gun and Brutus wonders why she doesn’t want him dead after he killed Caesar. Zari says that she’s a strategist and the most sensible thing to do is for them all to work together. Once they march into Hell they can demand their freedom using the ring as leverage. They all agree and start searching for the ring. That is until Bonnie draws her gun on Brutus and sends him to Hell.

Astra takes Ava and Gary to her study while Mick covers the bar. She discovers that her soul coins are gone from her vault and buzzes in an assistant demon, Tiberius (Robert Corness). Tiberius says that Astra had her take the coins out a week ago. Astra realizes a shapeshifter was involved. She kills Tiberius and says that he’ll be better in a few hours. Astra realizes that Lachesis (Sarah Strange) took her coins, but she’s too powerful to take on herself. Ava proposes an alliance to backup Astra and Astra agrees, but says it’s a stealth job for her and Ava only.

Astra takes Ava to Lachesis and explains that Lachesis took her in when Constantine banished Astra to Hell. Ava says that she knows how Astra feels because Rip did the same to her. She admits that she didn’t kill Rip and learned to take control of her own life. Two of Astra’s demon minions grab Ava and take the sword. Astra tells her minions to have fun with Ava and she’ll be back soon.

Black Caesar uses a magical compass to try and find the ring and Constantine and Zari watch. Zari figures that they need to grab the compass and insists on going with Constantine to get it. Clyde kills Black Caesar with his Hell weapon and Constantine grabs the compass.

Back in Hell the minions take Ava back to Astra’s office. Gary and Mick are there, already captured and tied up. The minions tie up Ava as well and Gary says that he’s the only one who will transport back along with anyone touching him.

Constantine and Zari use the compass and can’t find the ring, figuring that it doesn’t want to be found. Constantine realizes that they have to stop looking because he believes the spell on the ring prevents anyone looking for it to find it. He says that they should drink instead and goes off to find some alcohol.

Astra goes to Lachesis’ workshop and finds Atropos there as well. Lachesis introduces her sister and Astra says that she knows Lachesis stole the coins. They admit they did but only because they want Astra to join them as the new Clotho.

When Astra points out that Constantine promised to use the Loom to resurrect her mother, Lachesis tells her to move beyond her petty human desires. Astra says that she’ll accept the power of Fate, but she wants Constantine’s coin so that she can toy with him first. The Fates hand over Constantine’s coin and Astra kisses Lachesis on the cheek and leaves.

In the dining room Zari tries not to think about the ring. Constantine drinks and admits that he’s a mix of guilt and torment. If the Loom offers him the choice to redeem even one of his sins, he’ll keep thinking about it. Zari confesses that usually she can get things out of her head, but she can’t forget Behrad dying trying to protect her. She wonders if Behrad had the totem instead of her if he might still be alive. Touched, Constantine tells her that nothing good ever comes from beating oneself up.

Meanwhile, Bonnie and Clyde find Dr. White tied up in his room and begin to shout for Constantine. Constantine leads Zari to a secret passage she knows and tells her to get out of the house while he defends it. He also tells Zari that he’s sure she can get Behrad back, but not if she doesn’t escape.

In Astra’s office she picks up the sword and cuts Ava, Gary and Mick free. She figures that either Constantine will find the Loom or Lachesis will. Ava tells Astra to come with them and take control of her life. She and Mick touch Gary as he counts down to when he’ll transport back and Astra takes her hand.

The Encores take Constantine prisoner and he refuses to tell them anything about the ring. Dr. White threatens him with torture if he doesn’t talk, but Constantine tells them to go to Hell. As he prepares to cut Constantine’s chest, Zari comes in disguised as Cleopatra and orders them to stop. Bonnie figures that if they shoot Zari that it will convince Constantine to talk. Zari blasts Clyde with the air totem, sending him onto Dr. White’s hell scalpel and thus sending him to Hell.

Constantine frees himself with a spell and knocks Dr. White out from behind. Zari blasts Bonnie when she goes for her gun. Constantine picks it up as Zari holds Dr. White immobile with an air blast while Constantine shoots him with the Hell shotgun. Bonnie shoots at them and Zari deflects the bullet with an air blast. The bullet ricochets and hits Bonnie, sending her to Hell as well.

Zari and Constantine start to kiss, but then Constantine sees the ring on a nearby table in plain sight. He figures it was there the entire time, but he finally stopped thinking about it so it appeared. Nate and Ava come in to rescue them and realize that their friends don’t need saving at all. Nate grabs the Hell weapon for their future use and see’s they have the ring. Mrs. Hughes comes in and as the others leave, Constantine tells her she has a good disguise. The woman claims that she doesn’t know what Constantine means, but once they leave Enchantress drops her magical disguise and says to herself that she’ll see Constantine around.

Back on the Waverider Zari says she felt like Behrad was there when she used the totem. Gary hugs Constantine, glad to have him back, and Ava says that she tried to distract herself from Sara by trying to fix the Prognosticator. Constantine wonders how they found them and Astra comes in and greets him. She says that they have a Loom to build.
