This week´s episode starts with Zari (Tala Ashe) walking into John´s (Matt Ryan) mansion. He sees him and asks if everything is ok since there is glass and blood all over the floor,  but he says he´s never been better, followed by Sara (Caity Lotz) and a few Legends storming in asking where Bishop (Raffi Barsoumian) is. Ava (Jes Macallan) says he stole Rory´s (Dominic Purcell) comms. Gary (Adam Tsekhman) talks about how things feel not in hand at the moment. Zari begs him to tell them where Bishop is as she´s very confused given they just had a whole conversation about starting over without magic but she figures out he´s just stalling, astral projection which means he´s inside the Waverider. Gideon (Amy Louise Pemberton) tries to tell them what will happen if they re route the directly protocols, but she´s cut off making the only Legends on board aware of what´s happening. When they don´t hear from Gideon or the team it looks like it´s up to Astra (Olivia Swann) and Spooner (Lisseth Chavez) to save the day.  Apparently John´s plan is to find the fountain again. Last time he was not able to get it´s power because it deemed him unworthy, but now he has Bishop to help him unlock this ancient alien being to get his Powers back without having to rely on the flask´s blood. They set a course to a symbol on a map.

They travel to Odessa, Texas in 1925, a familiar vibe for Spooner. She senses something, not aliens. There´s an injured man in front of them helped by a woman named Gloria Cruz (Alexandra Castillo). She can´t explain it but that seems to be her mom. They´re interrupted by Doc (Steve Bacic), a greedy man insisting on buying Gloria´s land, but she has the won´t sell. Spooner and Astra back her up and scare him away for now. Gloria invites them for a thank you meal and Spooner looses sight of the mission. Astra agrees only to see if she knows anything about the fountain that may help them find John and Bishop. They´re both already there and find it but it looks empty, but perhaps it´s underground and they can summon it out.

Back at Gloria´s Astra asks her if there´s a fountain near them, but she doesn´t know. She just lives there with her daughter, Esperanza (Dominique Lucky Martell), who is now being approached by John. He has a vision when he touches her hand and figures out who she is and walks into Gloria´s where he sees Astra and Spooner. At John´s mansion the legends are trying to come up with a plan. Nate (Nick Zano) says it would be a lot easier if they had a time courier, but we won´t go there. Ava says they actually know somebody with a time ship that can help them. Kayla (Aliyah O´Brien) asks Gary to contact her. He thinks is a terrible idea but Zari convinces him. He comes back downstairs with something called IGCOM (Intergalactic Communication Device). They take a photo of Mic and tag Kayla, now they wait.

An awkward meal is happening at Gloria´s. She asks John what he was looking for in the forest and he tells her that it was just some medicinal herbs.  John doesn´t have any time to waste and shows Spooner what happens late that night. Her mother is gunned down by Doc and his men and she´s saved by the Fountain of Imperium, an alien being that whisked her off to keep her safe. Now inside her head, he offers her a choice. Astra asks to see her outside after waking up from the spell. It´s too late because she already gave her blood to John to open the Fountain, the one thing they are trying to stop.

At the mansion Kayla arrives through the front door and she´s furious. Sara apologizes by the way they had to contact her and asks for her help. Mick informs that the eggs on the ship are real as well as his feelings and they need to get it back so off they go. Bishop is creating a serum to make John worthy while he takes the Fountain. Astra has no choice but to engage in Spooner´s plan when the oil men arrive. Spooner is trying to protect Gloria, but to convince her she tells her everything including that she´s her daughter and that they get separated. So, she´s trying to fix that.

In an attempt to get through Spooner, Astra reminds her what will happen if she stays – history will be changed, which means that she´ll never meet the Legends, help them save Sara or become friends with her and she doesn´t want to lose her. Gloria hears it all and says that Esperanzita has to go so none of that happens. Astra takes her to the woods while Spooner fights off the oil men. Astra finds John at the bottom of the Fountain already lifted from the ground and little Esperanza´s already being taken by it. The rest of the Legends arrive in Kayla´s ship. John had already taken Bishop´s serum from him and injects himself with it; however, that also includes deadly poison. Things get worse when the legends find the eggs attached to an explosive. They try to grab as many as they can, but Rory goes back for the last one. He gets caught up in the explosion.

By the end of the episode Bishop reveals that by killing John he destroys the Fountain to destroy the planet. Of course, once upon a time benevolent aliens gifted the Fountain to Earth so it would act as an invisible shield to protect the planet from invasive alien species. Once it dies is open season on Earth. Astra and Zari find John just before he´s taken into the ground.
