Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Space Gospel mixed with a fair amount of regular rock and roll and a touch of Doom Boogie!

Q) Your New Peaches Remix of “When I’m Free” is out now via Suicide Squeeze Records. What inspired this collab?

A) We’ve always wanted a remix of one of our songs to dance to in the club! And Peaches seemed like the perfect human to make that happen!

Q) What was your song writing process like for “When I´m Free.” Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Yes!! Usually, we channel everything in advance except the lyrics. Typically, those come the day we are in the studio and I’m about to sing. They just stream out of mind and onto paper.

Q) What do you hope people take away from listening to this track?

A) The intro is kinda the thesis of the song. [smiles] To take the power back to yourself, and away from external circumstances. So, you can stand in your power and feel as though nothing can happen “to” you and everything can happen “for” you! Sometimes switching your perspective is all you can do.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) It’s a totally collaborative thing with our producer! He is like our fifth member. Most of what we record is improvised and has so many layers! We find out together while we are recording what the songs are in the studio. It’s a little chaotic, but we try not to judge our process, judging doesn’t help at all!

Q) What kind of fan reactions have you been receiving on social media to the Peaches remix of “When I’m Free?”

A) Everyone has been completely freaking out! Most of our fans are huge Peaches fans and this was an amazing surprise for them! I don’t think anyone expected a surprise this exciting!

What better way to reinforce the liberating spirit of the song than to give it to Peaches, an artist who continues to push boundaries in a career that spans over two decades and who has helped so many people navigate sexuality, gender, identity and being comfortable in one’s body in the new millennium.

Q) Why is it important for you to stay vocal about those subjects?

A) There is nothing more important to us than that people are safe and free to be who they truly are. Anyone outside of you telling you how to feel about your body, or who you love, is a total jerk and doing a disservice to the entire world. Everyone should be celebrated for their uniqueness and how they individually express themselves, not judged or shamed!

Q) You are going on tour this Spring/Summer. What are you most excited about returning to the stage?

A) Concerts are like religion to us. The energy of love shows cannot be replicated in any other setting, and we have tried! There is nothing better than congregating and spreading the good word of rock and roll!

Q) Where are you most looking forward to performing and why is it such a significant place for you?

A) Since we haven’t really played anywhere in over two years, we are looking forward to playing everywhere because everywhere is significant when you don’t get to go anywhere for so long. [smiles]

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Please give Danny Elfman our number! I think we were born to write with him as his spooky/horror backing band/haunted backing vocalists!

Q) What would you like to say to fans and supporters of you and your music?

A) Hope you know how thankful we are! It was just a dream until you helped make it real!! Thank you, thank you.
