Devil May Care – The Date

The Devil (Alan Tudyk) is at Tilt-A-World speaking to the citizens of Hell. In an amusement park filled with The Devil’s favorite ride, the Tilt-A-Whirl, we see that there are various versions of the ride like a drunk Mel Gibson and The Big Toe. But today there is an unveiling of a brand-new ride: the purple Tilt-A-Whirl. Beans (Asif Ali) looks very apprehensive while filming The Devil for Chit-Chat, but the crowd is going wild! When The Devil and Beans get on the ride with The Devil and Regina’s (Pamela Adlon) children, Beans tries to assure The Devil’s daughter that she has nothing to worry about. Unfortunately, as the ride accelerates, Beans realizes he is not prepared and The Devil’s daughter tries to offer him a barf bag instead. When the ride stops The Devil realizes that Beans has not made any friends or had any companions since he came to Hell. So, now The Devil is on a new mission: get Beans a girlfriend.

At the next meeting that The Devil has he enlists the help of McKinley (Fred Tatasciore), Gloria (Stephanie Beatriz) and Coma (Grey Griffin) to accomplish the most important task at hand: get Beans a girlfriend. While McKinley regales the group with the story of how he met his wife by winning her in a duel and Gloria shares her numerous escapades with anything that moves in Hell, Beans reminds the group that he prefers humans. Coma sadly looks on. The Devil decides that Beans needs to sit down with the best love expert he can think of: his wife, Regina.

Later at dinner with Regina tries get Beans to open up about what he’s looking for in a woman. When Beans spills that he is a virgin due to an excessive interest in internet porn, this triggers the succubus in Regina to want to drink his blood. As Regina tries to curb her inner demon, she tells Beans to be confident and be himself before he leaves the table. Regina then flags down the waiter to bring her all the cheesecake to eat her feelings.

Back at the office and freaked out by his encounter with Regina, Beans stays up all night and creates a Hell version of Tinder in order to try out the dating scene. The Devil is prepared to set him up on every date imaginable, but Beans would prefer to be a little more selective in his choices. Coma continues to refill Beans’s coffee cup as the caffeine fueled him all night long. When Beans gets three hits back on Tinder, The Devil takes on wingman status and clears his afternoon to take Beans shopping in a fashion montage before his three dates.

Deciding he needs to be present for all three dates, The Devil sits at a table in disguise near Beans in order to meet the three lovely ladies. The first date with Helen of Troy seemed promising until she starts talking about nothing but herself and asks about The Devil to try and start a war with a relationship, as that is her specialty and fetish. The second date, Rachel, comes in and looks nothing like her picture, as she is actually not a human. Beans becomes very disheartened by this point about ever finding someone to connect with, but The Devil thinks that the last date might be a better fit. It is Ziva (Lindsay Lohan) who is a demon and the daughter of his dentist. Still, Beans decides he wants to leave but then ends up bumping into Ziva on his way out, who has brought him flowers as she heard it was customary for humans to do this on dates. Immediately intrigued, Beans and Ziva leave to go on a proper date while The Devil is left with a $92 bill for all the coffees he drank.

On their date Beans and Ziva are having a great time. From Beans saving Ziva from Kitler, having frozen treats and going back on the purple Tilt-A-Whirl with Ziva soothing Beans after as he pukes. The date is practically perfect, even down to Beans walking Ziva home for the night. Outside of her house Ziva shares that she wants to sleep with Beans, something he is not quite sure he wants to do just yet. But as they enter the house Ziva’s father realizes that Beans is a human and forbids the relationship. While Beans had a lovely date he realizes that Ziva only went out with him just to upset her father and decides to leave. On the steps of Ziva’s house they at least share one kiss before Beans departs.

The next day in the office The Devil is very interested in knowing how the date with Ziva went, but Beans shares that he is going to take the dating scene at his own pace rather than try to push anything. The Devil reminds Beans that he has everyone on board if he wants to try the dating scene again then walks away. Before Beans can go in The Devil’s office, Coma comes up behind him and gives Beans a hug, reminding him that he will find happiness. Beans is touched by the gesture, then watches Coma eat a wiggling bug and proceeds to go into the office. Meanwhile, back at restaurant, Gloria meets with Beans’ second date Rachel and decides to go for it.
