Famous In Love – Guess Who’s (Not) Coming to Sundance

Paige (Bella Thorne) sits with a journalist from Us Weekly for a cover shoot. Her nerves get the best of her as she begins to ramble. She is asked about Jake (Charlie DePew) as the episode cuts into split scenes of Jake answering the same questions to Billy (Claudia Lee).  At the end of the interview they both come to the conclusion that they should be together at the film festival. Paige excuses herself to call her agent to reschedule the interview so she can go to Jake’s film festival.

 

Jake walks with Billy down the street in a small town in Utah where the film festival is held. Jake continues to complain about Paige not contacting him before Billy shows him his name in lights. He complains about it being small and barely noticeable for anyone to see before she snaps a picture of him. He asks her what that was for. She tells him that when he is done complaining he is going to want to remember this trip. It’s the momentum he needs to lift his spirits as he asks her to take another one of him.

 

Rainer (Carter Jenkins) packs up his house and talks to Harper (Danielle Campbell) who’s is in New York waiting for him to get there so they can start building their Trending Ocean charity on the east coast. Harper asks him if he is going to talk to Jordan (Keith Powers) before he leaves. Rainer tells her that he is throwing all of his crap in the courtyard. Harper tells him that he is going through a lot after the confessing interview he did on “Good Morning America.” Rainer fights back that it was a publicity stunt to get back in the good graces of his fans. Harper lets it go as they hang up.

 

Jordan departs the hotel elevator to run into Tangey (Pepi Sonuga) who is sending up a large arrangement of flowers obviously given to her by Pablo (Romeo Miller). Tangey greets him and he asks about the flowers. She tells him that her and Pablo have gone exclusive. She ushers him to a more private place to tell him she saw his interview and she is very proud of him. Jordan tells her that his new friend helped him. Tangey tells him that she is happy for him. She invites him to her listening party that night. He politely declines. Before he can leave she tells him that she would like to meet his new girl.

 

Nina (Perrey Reeves) looks on as she has lunch with Steve (Rob Estes), who is loosing his mind because he can’t close his deal with the new movie he told Nina about. He leaves the table to attend to his phone while Nina flags down a waiter to order. It becomes apparent that Nina is up to no good.

 

The first screening of Stealing Georgia is about to start as Jake watches the audience outside. Billy approaches him and tells him that people love it. She also tells him that a few casting directors came down from the Sundance location to check out the movie and approached Billy with their business cards. They take pictures in front of the festival banner before the crowd and photographers rush away to crowd a car. Jake tells Billy it must be someone big who drove down from Sundance to come see the film. Billy tells him they came a lot further than that to see his movie. Jake still can’t see who it is until Paige is right in front of him to tell him surprise.

 

Paige and Jake walk through the town as she tells him her grand ideas for a romantic winter weekend date.  She hopes it will make up for her not coming in the first place. Jake tells her that he wants to go, but he is there for work and shouldn’t leave. Paige tells him ok and she can just pawn off the passes to one of the most anticipated movie at Sundance. This changes his mind immediately. He kisses her and tells her that he is happy she is there. They make their way back to the hotel room in a mood to get it on, but they soon realize that Billy is in the room. Billy apologizes an awkward conversation rings out.  Paige had no idea that Jake and Billy were sharing a room and because of Sundance and the height of ski season there a no other rooms available. Jake tells them that the three of them are just going to have to find a way to make it work. Before Billy can leave she assumes that she will be going with Jake and Paige to the sold out screening. Paige, not wanting to hurt Billy’s feelings, just goes a long with the situation. Billy leaves telling Jake they are going to miss the panel they were going to. Billy leaves and Jake apologizes for her. Paige tells him it is ok and she will figure out the rest of it.

 

Jordan goes through his items at his and Rainer’s house as Rainer comes around the corner yelling at him to hurry up because he is trying to get the house listed. Jordan barks back that two more hours won’t matter. They fight about the sincerity of his interview as Rainer harshly tells Jordan that he is not going to just get away with what he did in his past.

 

Nina enters a hotel room telling an unknown person that she is ready to get in bed with them. It is revealed that this is the writer of the movie that she is trying to steal out from underneath Steve. The writer reads over the contracts Nina wants her to sign as she talks a mile a minute in an attempt to distract her. The writer counters her asking to write the screenplay for the film. When Nina tells her no the excitement to sign all of Nina’s contracts diminishes. Nina tells the writer that if she signs right now she will just her a nice check to take back home. The writer tells Nina she is going to think about it a little more and will call her.

 

Tangey starts her listening party with a handful of fans that sit at a table. Before she can finish her speech a fan interrupts her questioning her about her new single and if it is a clap back at Alexis (Niki Koss). Tangey tells them that she is not about that drama, but the fans only seem to care about her “diss track.” The fan then proceeds to question her about her relationship status with Pablo. Tangey does her best to deflect and continue to make the party about her music.

 

Nina sits in her office filing paperwork as Alan (Shaw Christian) comes in. Nina tells him he knows why he is already there she heard about his engagement. Shocked, he tells her that is not the reason he came in to talk to her. He tells her he knows that she is trying to steal a movie out from underneath Steve. He advises her to stop what she is doing and to do the right thing.

 

Jordan comes into his and Rainer’s house carrying a surfboard. Rainer claims it to be his as the two break out into another fight. Rainer smashes the surfboard and Jordan yells at him asking if this is how he wants their friendship to end. They are interrupted when a gentleman walks into the house and serves Jordan a court order. Jordan freaks out and asks Rainer what to do. Rainer just tells him good luck with that and leaves.

 

Billy, Paige and Jake attend the after party to the screening they went to and Billy and Jake try to rally a plan to go talk to the famous indie film maker. Before they know it he approaches them and tells Jake that he sent his second assistant to see his film. He said that his daughter’s interest in Paige got him interested in Jake’s movie. He proceeds to unknowingly insult Paige by telling Jake that Billy was the better choice for his movie. Paige asks him what he means and he tells Paige that she is famous for being famous and her in the movie would have overshadowed Jake’s filmmaking ability. Paige excuses herself to leave as the filmmaker invites them to meet some people. Paige looks back to see if Jake will follow her out. He takes one last look at Paige before he joins Billy. Paige storms out.

 

Nina comes to Steve’s lot and confesses to him what she did to his movie. She brings him a bottle of wine hoping it would make up for it. Enraged, Steve yells at her and empties the bottle of wine into a trash.  He proceeds to yell at her to get off his lot before he smashes the bottle and speeds away. It turns out that Harper has gone under the both of them in order to steal the script for the movie from the writer.

 

Tangey starts her Facebook Live to stream her new single, but things begin to turn sour when her fans continue negativity and attacking Alexis. Fed up with the behavior, Tangey tells her fans there and on the Facebook Live that showing her love isn’t through tearing others down. She tells everyone the event is officially over and walks out. She runs into Jordan who is seemingly upset. She asks him what is wrong and he tells her he is going to jail.

 

Jake comes back to the hotel room with an arm full of flowers hoping to apologize to Paige but he finds the room empty and her clothes gone. He realizes she’s left.

 

Nina comes back to Gold Brothers to yell at Steve for stealing her film. Steve tells her that he didn’t steal it. She confesses that she was trying to steal it for Rainer. Steve tells her that if she had told him that then he would have helped her because he only wants the best for her. Defeated, she tells him she was so close.

 

Paige arrives back home to find that her alarm is disabled and there is a candle lit dinner set up at her table. She cautiously approaches the table to find a present. She opens it to find a creepy collage of herself with clothing. She hears a noise that scares her and she sounds her house alarm.

 

Back at the Bixby, Jordan yells at his team over the phone telling them to find a way for him to get out of this mess. He smashes his phone in rage before smashing a mirror cutting his hand. He sinks to his feet before Tangey knocks on the door. He lets her in and she tells him she is going to take care of him.

 

Paige makes it back to the Bixby to drink wine and tell the bartender all about her crazy night. No one was found in her house and there were no signs of forced entry. She puts a food order in before she is met face to face with her ex Eddie (Liam C. Johnson.)

 

Tangey cleans up Jordan’s hand and tells him that he is going to need stitches. He tells her to go. He says that he screws up everything in his life. Tangey tells him that she is not going anywhere.

 

Rainer sits at home calling Harper again. He is struggling with his addiction to have a drink. Harper continues not to pick up and he leaves a message. He looks at his contacts before getting up and grabbing his keys. Continuing to struggle he sets his keys back down. Meanwhile, Paige and Eddie continue to enjoy each others company and catch up. Rainer continues to have trouble back at home and gives in to drinking. Back at the hotel, Tangey convinces Jordan to go to the hospital with him. At that moment, one of Tangey’s fans snaps a photo of them and posts it to social media. Downstairs, Paige and her ex talk about what could have been if they tried long distance.

 

Back in Utah, Jake continues to mope about Paige and Billy tries to cheer him up about the film. Jake tells her about what led him to where he is now. He tells her that he hasn’t spoken to his dad in months. Billy tells him he should send the photo to his dad. He does and they almost kiss after their sentimental moment. Jake pulls away first and Billy makes the excuse about going to sleep. At the Bixby, the lights in the restaurant go out as Eddie and Paige continue to talk. Heartbreak gets the best of Paige as she invites Eddie up to her room and asks him if he wants to know what could have been.
