Good Omens – Saturday Morning Funtime

We last left “Good Omens” as Adam (Sam Taylor Buck) began to make impossible things a reality. For example, the Lost City of Atlantis appeared out of nowhere! Of course, Adam is changing quite rapidly and those around him are starting to take notice. He suddenly has the power to make anything happen, which is a rather frightening thought.

Meanwhile, Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) is hoping to find a way to prevent Armageddon from happening but isn’t having much luck. He believes that if he tries to appeal to God directly then maybe, just maybe, something can be done. It doesn’t help; however, that Heaven is onto him and has been alerted to the fact that Aziraphale and Crowley (David Tennant) have been friends for centuries. Things get worse when Archangel Michael (Doon Mackichan) consults with Hell to see if Aziraphale is being a double agent, but unfortunately, makes Crowley look super shady in the process.

Suddenly, Crowley is placed in a bad situation and has to find a place to hide. The problem is he has nowhere to go and is frustrated that he’s being punished for trying to stop the plan. He doesn’t believe that it makes him less of a demon.

Next up on the package delivery tour is Pollution (Lourdes Faberes) followed by Death (Brian Cox). The only thing is Death has to die before doing anything and he plans on doing just that. As Newton (Jack Whitehall) heads to Tadfield something very peculiar happens–he sees a UFO and pulls over to talk to some aliens. You see, this strange occurrence has happened because Adam thought about it.

Anxiously waiting for Newton to arrive is Anathema (Adria Arjona), who is aware that he will be coming due to one of the prophecies. Unfortunately, he gets into a car accident and is luckily taken to Anathema when Adam finds him on the side of the road. After meeting Anathema, Newton learns all about the apocalypse. Unbeknownst to them, a frightening tornado starts brewing outside which traps them inside the house. With nothing else to do and no guarantee that they’ll live through this ordeal, Anathema and Adam have sex.

With each passing day Armaggedon is rapidly approaching and with it some very strange things. The Kraken has risen from the depths of the sea and the weather is starting to get out of control. The Fields of Meggido are slowly being prepared for the impending apocalypse, that is until all the demons including the very annoyed and angry Hastur (Ned Dennehy) realize that Warlock Dowling (Samson Marraccino) isn’t the Antichrist.

The real Antichrist, you see, was starting to get more and more powerful. He has begun to make things happen as he so pleases ,which means making everyone around him listen to his demands. He won’t let anyone tell him what to do and is really settling into these newfound powers.

Crowley tries to get Aziraphale to see reason once more, but Aziraphale just won’t have it. He needs to and wants to stop the apocalypse however he can. Failing to get Aziraphale to listen, Crowley has to face the fact that demons from Hell are going to come to punish him. But before they can do so, he uses the holy water to kill one of them and manages to trap one inside an answering machine. During this chaotic mess, Aziraphale asks Crowley to come and meet him because he knows where the Antichrist is.

Heavenly leaders are not very happy with Aziraphale and ask him to return to heaven and get back to his prior duties. In an attempt to contact God about all of this, Aziraphale ends up speaking with Metatron (Derek Jacobi), who doesn’t do much to help him at all. Unfortunately for Aziraphale, Shadwell (Michael McKean) happens to show up during this and thinks that something is wrong with Aziraphale – that he’s possibly been possessed.

Things get incredibly messy when Shadwell tries to exorcise whatever he thinks has taken a hold of Aziraphale and winds up sending Aziraphale to Heaven because the doors were open from before. This won’t end well! And it doesn’t because as Shadwell walks out of the bookstore a candle falls over and sets the entire store on fire.
