Cassie (Catherine Bell) is surprised with breakfast in bed by Sam (James Denton). He cannot believe that she didn’t wake up at the regular time she’s used to, but she tells him that she worked until late grading papers. Her time at the university has come to an end so Sam tries to cheer her up saying that other opportunities might come up. Donna (Elise Bauman) and Joy (Katherine Barrell) are working on Martha’s house final details and discuss that the walls from the hallway might not be done before the party that same night. Donna informs her that she had put a bid on a remodeling job in Vermont, something that surprises Joy since it seems she doesn’t want to leave Middleton.

Martha (Catherine Disher) calls Abi (Sarah Power) and Donovan (Marc Bendavid) to sadly inform them that the crack in the ruby is now grown bigger. Abi gets all sad and says that it seems their breakup was for nothing, but Martha encourages them to not to give up. Cassie is at her store when Martha arrives looking all worried saying that the plans for her dinner are not coming along as she had expected, so Cassie suggests her to use some juniper and smudge her house. She offers to help her with it and says that her house warming will be magical. Suddenly, Cassie finds a purple bag on her counter, opens it and finds some dirt in it.

Sam is working on his surgery schedule when Grant (Lindsay Owen Pierre) sees him and makes him to take some days off since he’s been working so hard and he doesn’t want him to be burnt out. Sam does not entirely agree with it, but is left with no choice. Adam (Scott Cavalheiro) is helping Stephanie (Kylee Evans) to fix one of the bistro stoves and they start to discuss about what she would do when he is gone. They have been reading some articles about long-distance relationships and are sad because they are afraid that it won’t work for them. Abi and Donovan have put up an evidence board about the curse. Sam arrives to help them, but they don’t find anything that can help them move forward. In the meantime Cassie is helping Martha to smudge her house. Madame Mayor seems to be happy, but then Joy shows up saying that a delivery of flower arrangements has arrived. However, Martha is shocked when seeing that is not what she ordered. Cassie asks her why she didn’t ask Abi to do her flowers, but she says that the florist refused to help her since that is the house where the curse started. To make matters worse, Joy tells her that is very likely the paint on the hallway walls won’t be dry before dinner. Martha begins to wonder when the smudging effects will kick in.

Sam is making himself a sandwich when Cassie walks in and is surprised to see that he is not at the hospital. He explains that he was obliged to take some days off. Cassie seizes the opportunity to tell him that since the professor she has covering for decided to extend his sabbatical she was asked to take on his position.

Abi and Donovan are still working on the board, but with no success. His phone rings and he plans to cancel his meeting so they can continue working on the board, but Abi won’t let him do it. Abi tries to say she loves him, but she just can’t. Adam buys an engagement ring for Stephanie and shows it to Sam. He is convinced he wants to marry her, but Sam questions him if he wants to propose to her only to make sure that she is there when he comes back. Later that day Martha complains to Tom (Paul Miller) that nothing is working as she expected, but he tries to cheer her up. Right that moment Joy and Donna arrive and tell her that the chandelier she ordered is smaller that she thought. Martha nearly has a heart attack when seeing that it’s the size of a Christmas tree decoration. Meanwhile at the Grey House, Cassie is teaching Sam how to meditate but the man doesn’t manage to concentrate at all and decides to go and putting instead.

Martha decides to try one more time and asks Abi to help her with her flowers, but the woman stands on her decision. Martha tells her that even though she doesn’t want to do her flowers she and Donovan are still invited to her housewarming, but Abi says that she cannot be celebrating at the place where the curse started. Cassie makes a salted cupcake for Donna and tells her that she knows she is a very good friend for Joy. Donna says that Joy has been there for her too and Cassie brings up the job offer at Vermont saying that she hopes Joy chooses whatever is right for her then leaves. Joy walks in and tells Donna that she hasn’t made a decision about the possible job at Vermont yet and Donna says that she might get used to the Middleton life.

Abi is packing everything that is on the evidence board when Donovan arrives and is surprised by it. She says that she has decided to enjoy rather than being worried and she wants to go to Martha’s housewarming and just forget about the curse and the Connelly’s and Donovan agrees. Martha pays a visit to Cassie and tells her that it seems the smudge sticks were expired since nothing is working properly for her, but Cassie manages to change her perspective about things. Stephanie goes to the hospital and tells Adam that her family is excited to meet him at the holidays, but he says that he is not sure if he’ll be able to spend the holidays with her. She says that just in the same way he was able to make plans about what he wanted, she wants to be able to do the same for herself.

Tom gives Martha a necklace that the woman loves and makes her mood shift positively. Joy and Donna enter saying that the right chandelier has just arrived and right that moment Abi enters the place carrying a beautiful flowers arrangement and saying that she has a truck full of those if she still wants them.

Cassie is working on her pottery wheel when Sam arrives and wants to participate. So, they work together and he seems to actually enjoy it. Donna tells Joy that they won the bid on the Vermont remodeling job, something that will help them to take their business from the minor to the major leagues, but Joy asks her to give her time to think about it.

Dinner time has come. Cassie and Sam arrive to Martha’s house and are welcomed by Tom. Martha shows up looking happy and she makes her way through the sea of guests as she greets them graciously. Then, she takes a moment to give a proper welcoming speech to the “Tinsdale Manor” and to thank Joy for her wonderful work.

Adam apologizes to Stephanie for making their situation more difficult. He is about to take the ring out of his pocket, but then he makes a pause and says that he doesn’t want her to put her life on hold for him. Dottie (Paula Boudreau) shows up and congratulates Martha on her house. Adam confesses to Sam that he thought it well and decided not to propose to Stephanie. The chef speaks to Cassie and tells her that her and Adam decided to break up but deep inside she wished he would have changed his mind and stayed. Cassie says that sometimes “the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.” Martha thanks Donna for also collaborating with Joy and says that a friend of hers would like to hire them to remodel her house, but Donna says that they already have another offer outside Middleton. Meanwhile, Joy confesses to Cassie that she doesn’t know what to do since she just found them, but the woman says that the Merriwicks always have a way to find each other and suggests her to do what’s best for her.  Donovan and Abi go to the library to have some time on their own but are interrupted by Dottie who confesses that her and Donovan’s father didn’t have it easy at first since she was not accepted by the Davenports. However, when he proposed to her all of that changed and she asked them to carry on. Adam sees Stephanie across the room and asks her for a dance to what she happily agrees to. Sam and Cassie and Abi and Donovan dance as well while Martha happily looks at them.

Later, Martha and Tom look through the telescope by their window. Sam sees them and suddenly says “hidden in plain sight,” just as the curse said. Sometime after Sam, Cassie, Abi, Donovan, Joy, Martha and Tom gather at the Grey House to discuss the curse. They look at the Nathaniel Merriwick’s painting and realize that in there he is looking through a spy glass at William Spry, the man that stole Patience from Roderick. They try to connect all the dots and the clues they have found and end up realizing that the bird that Joy’s mother gave her might have another clue inside. Joy breaks it and they find the missing diamond. They put the diamond where it belongs next to the other gems in the music box and a new compartment opens revealing the engagement ring that Roderick used to propose to Patience. Donovan takes it and asks Abi to marry him. She happily agrees and is finally able to say “I love you” to Donovan.

Later that night Donna meets with Joy looking for an answer about the job at Vermont, but the woman asks for more time. Cassie and Sam go to their room and lay on their bed while they make a recap of the day the just had. Cassie feels like playing with Sam’s mini golf, but then she realizes that he had fallen asleep. So, she leaves the room. Cassie goes to the kitchen where she left the purple bag she received earlier that day and then is met by Abi and Joy who claimed they have received the same bag but have no idea what it means.
