gP – Fangs Out

By  |

By: Jamie Steinberg

Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Aggressive Trip Rock

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Frank Sinatra is pretty cool.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Fangs Out.”

A) I guess it’s the first song we used an arpeggio synthesizer so forwardly. It was fun building a song around a moving synth like this.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) Hopefully it’s the chorus and the mood of the tune.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video concept and lyrics content are separate. The vampire theme in the video isn’t connected to the “Fangs Out” theme of the song.

Q) You also have the single “Für Zoe” out. What kind of fan reaction did you receive to the song?

A) People seem to dig it just the same as our previous tunes.

Q) How did you come to work with Matt Fazzi on it?

A) I just hit him up and asked if he would come in and put his charm on out EP, and he said he’d be happy to.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Music always comes first. Gotta start with some kind of riff.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I’d say 100% if I can help it.

Q) What can fans expect from a live gP performance?

A) Black suits, wingtip shoes and a lot of sweat from all the thrashing around.

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

A) Yesssssss. Something pretty wild coming next that I can’t mention in too much detail.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) No place like home.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Ricky Reed. That dude can produce all our songs!

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) The new Anderson.Paak album is tiiight. Give it a listen.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Because people are constantly looking at it. So, it’s kind of something you have to do.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you. Love you.
