Q) How would you best describe your sound?

A) Alternative, Punk, Experimental, Art Rock, Hardcore

 

Q) Who would you consider your Top 3 musical influences?

A) Fujifabric, Björk, Seiko Oomori

 

Q) What does it mean to you to be a part of SXSW this year?

A) Going to meet someone you don’t know yet

 

Q) What songs off your upcoming album Shunka Ryougen are you looking to perform at SXSW?

A) “Déconstruction,” “Bang,” Kick in the World” and “Who the Fuck is Burning the Forest?”

 

Q) I absolutely love the song “Déconstruction,” which is on the upcoming album. What inspired you to write and record the song?

A) The idea of “Déconstruction” has been one of the themes of my life for the last few years and I’ve always wanted to write a song about it. This song was made after a lot of worries and distress.

 

Q) What has been the response to music you have shared from Shunka Ryougen? 

A) I think it’s good … but I don’t really know. [laughs]

 

Q) During the recording of the Shunka Ryougen album, how involved were you in the production/engineering process?

A) I participated in everything. I talked with the engineers about mixing and mastering and did it in particular detail.

 

Q) What do you hope fans take away from Shunka Ryougen?

A) Inspiration for the process of thinking or creation.

 

Q) What has been one of your favorite moments at SXSW, past or present?

A) I was able to meet my favorite music act Pussy Riot in person and sing Police State together on stage.

 

Q) Prior to your SXSW performance this year you played some North American tour dates. Are there any other upcoming dates for fans to look forward to?

A) I wish I could do a tour for the album later this year, and I’m thinking of discussing it with my staffs. I hope you look forward to it.

 

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters of you and your music?

A) Thank you for reminding me that I can go anywhere and be anything.
