Q) The first movie did really well and on August 4th, Malibu Rescue: The Next Wave, the third installment of the Malibu franchise, hits Netflix. What can you tease fans can expect from this film?

A) I think a lot of fans’ questions will be answered and also, they can expect everything from the first movie but heightened. The Next Wave is a perfect mix of action, friendship and romance.

Q) What was it like being on set for the film Malibu Rescue: The Next Wave?

A) It was so fun being able to work with everyone from the cast and crew again!! We had some new characters in this movie, so it was super fun getting to work with some new actors and watch how the dynamic changed.

Q) Were you looking forward to sharing scenes with anyone in particular?

A) I think I was equally excited working with everyone again, but if I had to pick it would probably be Jeremy [Howard] who plays Vooch. He is the funniest person in the world and always improvises so you never know what you’re going to get when you film a scene with him!

Q) You play the character Dylan throughout all of this, a super-cute-but-overwhelmed lifeguard, how has she evolved throughout all of this?

A) I think over the course of the first movie and season, Dylan has really found her voice and stood up for herself and her team. She used to be very shy and not want to step over anyone and I think fans can expect to see her really standing up for herself.

Q) Spending so much time playing Dylan you must have times when you feel like you become this character. How do you relate to her personally?

A) I think Dylan and I are both super goofy and awkward at times. I like to think that I’m super smooth and collected, but in reality, Dylan and I are both dorks and kids at heart. I feel like I can also relate to her “never give up attitude.”

Q) When you play Dylan how do you go about getting into character?

A) Being on set always makes me so excited and giggly, so it’s super easy becoming the over-the-top happy Dylan when I am around our cast and crew.

Q) What scenes in particular were fun to be a part of during filming?

A) There’s a lot of action and stunts in The Next Wave. I think all of the competition scenes were super exciting, just because we did our own stunts and we also have a couple of really awesome water scenes.

Q) Talk about working with director Savage Steve Holland.

A) Savage is one of the greatest people I’ve ever met!!  He has such a clear vision of how he wants things, but also lets the actor add their own touch too. Being on set with him is always such a comfortable and collaborative space, you feel like the sky is the limit. He is also very supportive and caring about the whole cast. Not to mention he is also hilarious.

Q) What do you think it is about this film turned series that makes it such a fan favorite?

A) I think the relatability of Malibu Rescue is what really hooks fans. There is always at least one character every kid out there can relate to who is dealing with the same thing as the character. I also think the idea of being a lifeguard is pretty cool, too!

Q) What advice would you give to aspiring actors or actresses?

A) I think the best advice is to just go for it. Always commit to your auditions and your characters and give 100%. Even if you don’t book the audition, you’re still making a fan out of the casting director and that will take you very far.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and the work you do?

A) I don’t know if I will ever have the perfect words but thank you! Thank you for supporting and going on this crazy ride with me. All of the edits and posts don’t go unnoticed!! I can’t wait to see what the future holds!!
