Jackson Dollinger – One and Only
By: Lisa Steinberg
Q) Please tell us the story behind your song “One and Only.”
A) yourself and missing a person you felt complete with. This song was created in my home studio about a year and a half ago when I had just turned fourteen years old. I actually made the beat and recorded the first verse and the pre-chorus before I added the hook a month later.
Q) Where did the concept for the song come from?
A) “One and Only” is an upbeat pop song about being by yourself and missing a person you felt complete with. The song is a story about taking some time after a breakup and missing the feeling of being in a relationship.
Q) You are a part of social media. What kind of fan feedback have you been receiving to the single?
A) I have received nothing but support with the single. I’m so happy my supporters are enjoying “One and Only.”
Q) Are there any live performance plans to promote “One and Only?”
A) I have actually never done a live performance before, but it is definitely something I’m looking forward to in the future.
Q) Is there a full album or EP coming in the near future?
A) That is something I have been considering for a while. It is very much a possibility, but for now I want to continue to release more singles.
Q) We’re also seeing you in the new series “Life by Ella.” How was your character Gavin originally described to you?
A) I’m so glad I got the opportunity to work on “Life by Ella” and showcase another side of my acting. Ella has cancer and my character, Gavin, encourages her to have a positive mindset and shows her how to make the best out of her time in the hospital. “Life By Ella” is out now on Apple TV+.
Q) Were you familiar with any of your co-stars before working with them on the series?
A) Yes, Lily Brooks O’Briant and I had a few mutual friends before we actually worked on the show together.
Q) What do you think it is about “Life by Ella” that made it such a fast fan favorite comedy?
A) I think it is a very touching show and even though there are some extremely emotional scenes, there are also many lighthearted comedic moments.
Q) What are the other recent projects you’ve been working on for our screens?
A) I am currently working on “Pretty Freekin Scary,” a new Disney Channel series that will debut in the summer of 2023.
Q) You’re an actor and a musician. Is there anything else in the entertainment industry that you’d like to try your hand at?
A) I’m very interested in working behind the camera. Once I get a little older, I would love to try directing. I would also love to produce and write.
Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of the work you do – whether it is musically or acting?
A) Thank you so much for all the support! I love you all so much. Tons of new music on the way as well.
