Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I just finished up: MGM digital feature called Keep Hope Alive, which is a political comedy spin off of the classic Weekend at Bernie’s and a Warner brothers feature called The Sun is Also a Star based on the New York Times #1 novel of the same title and stars Yara Shahidi.

Q) How was your character on “Single Parents” originally described to you?

A) I think Miggy was originally described as a young dad, who’s a little clueless but very nice and into sneakers. I could be wrong though!

Q) Was there anything you added to him that wasn’t initially written for you?

A) The creatives probably didn’t think of Miggy having tattoos or playing basketball. I have a lot of tattoos in real life and I’ve played basketball on the college and semi pro level before becoming an actor. I feel like those attributes make a lot of sense for a character like Miggy.

Q) You often work on a lot of dramatic series. What drew you to want to be a part of this comedic show?

A) The first thing that drew me to this show was the script. It was SO good. Absolutely hilarious. The creatives involved were also people that I admired and wanted to work with. Also, my mother and a lot of people in my life are single parents. And last, but not least, I want to be the best and most well-rounded actor I can possibly be. I think working on both dramas and comedies are important in growing as an artist because there’s a lot to learn from both genres.

Q) Were you familiar with any of your costars before working with them on the series?

A) Yes, I knew of all of my costars and their past work actually. So, I was super stoked to be able to do a show with them!

Q) Was there someone you were most looking forward to sharing a scene with?

A) I was honestly excited to share a scene with every one of them. They’re all very different people but equally funny and talented.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from filming “Single Parents?”

A) The most memorable moments would have to be… definitely the first scene of the first day of filming the pilot. It was a very long scene, maybe 5 1/2 pages at least, and it was all five of the leads in one scene and we haven’t shot together before that. We really became an ensemble that day. [laughs] Also, any scene I get to shoot with the little twins babies that play my baby Jack is always a treat.

Q) What do you think it is about the show that will make it a fast fan favorite?

A) I think the equal parts of humor and heart in each episode will be something fans can look forward to and relate to every week. Each character is going through conflicts in their lives and a lot of folks out there will see themselves in these characters for sure.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant fan feedback to the show?

A) I am definitely looking forward to seeing the feedback of the fans and engaging with them! But if they’re talking shit, I might not talk to you cuz ain’t nobody got time for that!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I would like to truly thank all the supporters of my work from the bottom of my heart. I don’t ever take fans for granted. I do this for y’all!
