Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is debating whether she should see Michael (Brett Dier) or not, even though Rafael (Justin Baldoni) has made her move out and is not speaking to her. Michael and the police think that Rose (Bridget Regan) lied about why she faked his death. Michael also reveals that he was still investigating Rose, even after he left the force. He and Jane decide to walk through his last day alive.

Jane picks up Mateo (Elias Jannsen) from karate practice because Rafael was late. He doesn’t seem well at all and the twins saw him taking pills in secret. Jane tries to talk to Petra (Yael Grobglas) about it, but she doesn’t seem as concerned. When Jane leaves Petra calls Rafael, but he doesn’t answer.

Xo (Andrea Navedo) catches Rogelio (Jaime Camil) masturbating. They talk about how they haven’t had a sex life in so long because of Xo’s cancer. She says she hasn’t felt like it, but she misses it too. They decide to go on a date and try.

Petra wants to be more like J.R. (Rosario Dawson) and her friends. She tries a little bit too hard at first, but tells J.R. she isn’t as posh as everyone thinks she is. Petra goes to see Rafael and tells him that she and Jane are concerned.

Michael remembers writing Jane an email reply the day he died, but Jane never got it. It turns out he wrote it, but never sent it. He ran into one of Rose’s masks at the coffee shop, which distracted him from pressing send. As it turns out, Michael had glanced down at her phone and saw a website she must have been running with her username and realized the code they found is the password. The website is something on the dark web that she was running.

Away from her reconnecting with Michael, we see Jane feeling left out because Petra knows what is going on with Rafael but won’t tell her.

Rogelio and Xo try to have sex, but she has no sex drive. She feels mentally ready, but not physically. The chemo did this by causing an early menopause, but it also reduces the risk of her cancer coming back. Rogelio says they have to look at the bright side and that they do not want the cancer coming back more then anything.

Michael admits to Jane he stopped being a cop for her and gave up his career because of how worrisome and scared she was of it. He says that he did it because he was happy. She says that he won’t be happy now because all their memories are sappy and Michael isn’t like that anymore.

Jane becomes even more worried about Rafael. She decides to look in his medicine cabinet and he catches her. She follows Petra to a club she is going out to with J.R. and her friends to find out more. Petra tells Jane that Raf hasn’t been taking any unprescribed drugs, but he has been taking antidepressants. Jane asks why Petra has been being such a bitch to her. She says it because her advice was to send away Michael and not break up with Rafael. Jane says that Petra just needs to support her. Petra tells Jane that she needs to do the same and drags her to dance with her. Jane teaches Petra how to grind and they win 2nd place in a dance contest.

Immigration shows up to see if Jorge (Alfonso DiLuca) and Alba (Ivonne Coll) are actually living together and are married. Alba finally admits to Jorge she still has feelings for him, but she is committed to helping him get his green card. However, after that, they should go their separate ways. He says he understands and thanks her.

Jane goes to apologize to Rafael and he says he just needs space.

Michael is asked to rejoin the force. Michael agrees with Jane that they were different people than they are now, but his feelings are not different. He says they can never really explore if they are surrounded by their ghosts and past baggage in Miami. He asks her to go to Montana for a few days and she says yes.
