Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe my sound as “storytelling, classic and innovating.”

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My musical influences are Faith Hill, Greta Van Fleet, Adele, Whitney Houston and Loretta Lynn.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Ghost.”

A) “Ghost” was written in 2017. I wrote it about a bad breakup I went through. We both never really got closure due to fateful circumstances, so we each became a ghost to one another. Very sad and haunting, yet empowering. In the story, the lyrics say “I never felt so alive” – his silence actually empowered her to wake up to who she really is!

Q) The song was co-written with Brian McKeever. How did the two of you initially connect?

A) We initially connected over Instagram. He is a producer and composer from Long Island. He isn’t a lyricist – I do the lyrics, but he will take my melodies and compositions and make them into a whole song. He’s really good at bringing songs to life.

Q) What is it about the song that you feel connects listeners to it?

A) I think the rawness of the emotions speak to the listener. I also think it empowers people to hear a positive spin on a sad topic.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video for the track plays into the message because it is based in the middle of the desert. Deserts are isolated, lonely, eerie and haunting.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My songwriting process can be complex; sometimes a melody and the lyrics come instantly, other times I think of a concept and come up with lyrics and then I sing a melody and write it down on the piano or the guitar to compose.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I am there from beginning to end in production.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Yes! In 2023 I plan to release my first full album.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) Theaters. I love how you can dress up and everyone listens to the music being performed. I used to act as a child, and I love the big stage. Reminds me of being in a play, where you can hear a pin drop.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would like to collaborate with Chris Stapleton.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I am currently listening to Greta Van Fleet. I love their sound. Obviously, they are inspired by the great Led Zeppelin, but they’ve really come into their own and I love the mystery behind their lyrics. The musicians are top notch also.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans? What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I think social media is very important, although it can be toxic. For instance, my fans wouldn’t know I had a new single coming out if I hadn’t announced it.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I would like to thank everyone who has purchased “Ghost” when it was released October 28th. I also want to thank everyone who watched the music video for “Ghost” on YouTube and to everyone who has liked the video or commented. You inspire me to keep working!
