Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) The backbone and pocket of everything in my music is rooted in R&B whereas the vocal delivery and instrumentation of almost everything I do exists in the Pop/Alternative lane.

Q) Musically speaking, who would you say are your biggest influences?

A) Right off the bat I’d have to say Jeff Buckley, Prince and The Beatles

Q) What’s your songwriting process like? Do you need music before lyrics can be crafted?

A) The most magical songs come as a burst of inspiration where everything comes together all at once. A lyric may inspire a chord progression/melody or the other way around, but I like to view songwriting very similar to baking a cake. When the oven’s hot and you have all the right ingredients it bakes itself and you just have to know when it’s done.

Q) What was the inspiration behind your new song “Full Time Lover?”

A) “Full Time Lover” is a song about having the capacity to meet any lover on a truly present level. It’s a song about valuing and holding on to true intimacy.

Q) How did the concept of your music video for “Full Time Lover” come to be?

A) I wanted to encapsulate an individual torn between love and lust within the duality of sexual fluidity. Many things in the video are up for interpretation (does the snake represent sin or the shedding of one’s skin? Divinity or surface level temptation?). We wanted to bring forth these questions to have the viewer answer that for themselves based on their own ideologies.

Q) What kind of fan response have you gotten to this new song?

A) I’ve seen people use “Full Time Lover” as both an anthem for that special someone in their life or as a call to arms to live by in regard to seeking the true nature of love in other individuals.

Q) Your EP Ouroboros is set to be released in three parts, could you tell me what’s behind that decision?

A) Over the years I’ve created so much work and have been very cautious to make sure that as I build a relationship with the public I’m certain that I’m inviting them in on something very special and genuine. The three EP’s tell the story of an individual going through their own Ouroboros cycle (life, death, and rebirth).

Q) Which song(s) from your upcoming EP are you the most excited for fans to hear and why?

A) “Cupid Played Pretend” is a mischievously cheeky record that isn’t one I typically write and am genuinely excited to share as it feels out of my comfort zone.

Q) What do you hope people who listen to your music take away with them – whether an emotion or message?

A) I hope that by revealing the personal journey I’ve been on thus far that people can find the courage to pursue the true nature of love (for whatever that means for them) beyond any obstacle in their way.

Q) Who would you love to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Omar Apollo, Daniel Caesar, Christine and the Queens, and Caroline Polachek.

Q) What advice would you give to up-and-coming musicians?

A) Tell the truth in every form of expression that you can, and it will always present you with beautiful rewards

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of the music that you make?

A) I hope they are aware that they are the light at the end of every tunnel I face in this life and every song that reaches them is a victory. I’m truly grateful for everyone who’s listened and enjoys the music thus far.
