Julian Gant – Call Me Kat

Q) What can we expect to see in the new season of “Call Me Kat?”

A) This season of “Call Me Kat” is gonna be filled with loads of laughs and really fun sentimental stories. You’ll also get to know so much more about each of the characters surrounding Kat (Mayim Bialik).

Q) Your character is kind of the comic relief of the show. In what ways do you relate to Carter?

A) I can relate to Carter because deep down, he’s a hopeless romantic. He’s what I like to call a “super cool square,” who walks to the beat of his own drum. Also, we have the hair in common. It just works!

Q) Last season, we saw a relationship hinted at between Randi and Carter. Will we see more of that this season?

A) Absolutely, but my lips are sealed as to what’s gonna happen. C’mon man, I can’t give away too much. You have to watch!!

Q) Carter is a single dad as well as a business owner. In what ways do you want to see him evolve in Season 2 of “Call Me Kat?”

A) I would love to see how Carter evolves as a business owner. Maybe he’ll open up another business called “The Middle J.” Never mind! Maybe that’s something Julian will do!

Q) The season opens with a “Blossom” reunion. What was it like working with Mayim’s former co-stars?

A) It was so fun! I mean, I used to watch “Blossom” as a child and now I get to perform with them. It’s kind of unbelievable. Joey [Lawrence], Jenna [von Oÿ] and Michael [Stoyanov] were a blast. Maybe they’ll come back! Did I say that? Am I lying or am I telling the truth? You gotta watch to find out!

Q) Who are some people you want to see on the show as guest stars?

A) Eddie Murphy, Craig Robinson, Phylicia Rashad, Larry David, Monique, Kevin Hart, Dave Chapelle, Mike Epps, Katt Williams…Yo, this is a long list and I can keep adding. Any or all of them would be dope! You asked me!

Q) What else can you share about this season?

A) I can honestly say that the show has an extra layer of funny this season. We’ve added a new cast member, and a bunch of really funny guest star performers. But I’m not saying no names, so don’t ask me! You gotta watch and see!

Q) The show was a surprise hit for Fox. What do you think makes it so appealing?

A) I really feel like the positive energy of the show makes it so appealing to watch. Our cast has so much fun just being around each other; we really love each other, and I think that love shines through. That energy is infectious. Considering the world that we live in now, this show allows you to let your guard down, forget about any negativit and just have a little fun with us!

Q) Are you currently working on any other projects? I have a few things on the horizon:

A) A film starring Dustin Hoffman, directed by my fellow cast member, Mayim Bialik. Is there anything that Mayim can’t do? The answer is no. She can do anything! A film called Bar Fight, which should be coming out late 2022. And a Netflix cartoon. Not sure I can reveal that yet. Oops! I just did, but you’ll have to check back in order to find out the title. Look, I’m not about to be sued!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of the work you do?

A) I would just like to say thank you so much for all of your support. I really appreciate all of you, and I can’t wait for you all to see what else we have in store!
