Katrina Bowden – 30 Rock

Q) What are the current projects that you are working on?

A) I am currently working on the show “30 Rock.”

Q) Please tell us the premise for your show “30 Rock” and about your character Cerie.

A) The show is about the behind the scenes of a comedy skit show like “SNL.” Tina Fey plays the head writer and Alec Baldwin plays the big boss who kind of takes over and takes charge. He brings in Tracy Jordan (who is played by Tracy Morgan) who doesn’t really fit in, but is a funny character. The show is about the struggles Tina’s character goes through while trying to juggle the different personalities she has to work with. My character, Cerie, is Peter’s (played by Scott Adsit) assistant. Cerie doesn’t really fit in to the show because she don’t care. She is very unmotivated and is scantily clothed around the office.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the show?

A) I thought the cast had some great names. The set is so wonderful and everyone is just so much fun to work with. I’ve never done comedy, so I thought it would be fun to try.

Q) What is it about your role that challenges you?

A) With comedy, there is a certain kind of acting that must be done. It’s all about timing. I have to act like I just don’t care about anything and my responses are supposed to be dry. It’s not really that challenging, but it’s fun to play this kind of character.

Q) What is it like working with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin?

A) It’s great! Tina is so sweet and so is Alec. They are both really funny, but they are also just normal people. They are very welcoming and I learn a lot by watching them.

Q) What is your most memorable moment from filming the show?

A) Episode four has a lot to do with my character and I have to wear these crazy outfits that no one would ever wear, let alone to work. It was fun and it was funny. Every day on the set is memorable because it’s always a lot of fun. It’s really upbeat and a positive place.

Q) The show is getting rave reviews. How does that make you feel?

A) It makes me feel great! I am so excited! I read all the reviews online when ever I can. It’s really exciting and I am glad that it is doing well.

Q) Why should viewers be tuning in to the show?

A) There is a great cast and it’s really funny. It’s about being behind the scenes of a live television show. It’s funny with great characters and great personalities. It’s a really fun show and I love all of the scripts. When ever we read through the scripts together, before filming, we’re all just cracking up for about half an hour as we’re reading!

Q) What do you do in your spare time?

A) In my spare time, I relax. We work really hard doing twelve to fifteen hour days. I like spending time with my friends and family. I like to shop and I visit my boyfriend a lot. He lives in Delaware and goes to school there so I’ll visit him on the weekends.

Q) What is your latest obsession? An activity? A sport? A band?

A) I love kick boxing. I’m really into it at the moment. I think it’s fun because I love working out and I get bored, so this is great since it is high intensity. It’s fun and it releases stress, as well.
