The episode opens with Cinda Canning (Tina Fey) talking about life in NYC as Mabel (Selena Gomez) looks at an apartment. As the real estate agent shows off the place, Cinda talks about finding a safe place and life after her podcast….and her comeback in way of self-care rituals.

Mabel decides against the apartment as she responds to a mysterious text, telling the person to leave her alone.

Joy (Andrea Martin) and Charles (Steve Martin) settle into life living together with her exercise equipment and aquarium. She is thrilled with the turn their life took and wants to go to the fish store, but he has to rehearse. She doesn’t get the hint that he is miserable, but leaves happily while he works out.

Oliver (Martin Short) talks to Mabel and Charles about the podcast. She thinks it is Kimber (Ashley Park), which Oliver agrees is a possibility. He thinks she is one of the few decent singers on the show, which upsets Charles.

Mabel and Oliver continue to discuss the case, but Charles is still focused on the show. They also talk about Loretta, whom Oliver has yet to ask out.

The trio watches Kimber TikTok about anti-aging products, only to get caught by the suspect herself. Everyone else arrives for rehearsal, which sends Charles into a state of stage fright and panic….leading to a break from reality of him painting a white room.

When he gets back to reality, Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton) calls his therapist (who is actually his cousin from State Farm that he calls when things go wrong) and Jonathan (Jason Veasey) offers Charles advice.

Mabel and Oliver discuss what is going on, only to be interrupted by a hysterical Howard.

Later on, Charles panics to Joy, who tries to calm him down. He then breaks eggs to make an omelette and begins singing in a panicked tone. He realizes he sang the song and thinks making the omelette helped. He tries to tell this to Joy, but she doesn’t think this is the case and promises to look out for him. They decide to take things to the bedroom.

Mabel and Oliver continue to investigate for the podcast. She has to make him focus since he has Loretta on his mind. They run into Kimber, who wonders why they are at the theatre. She is there ‘running her beauty empire’ and tries to convince Mabel to buy some. However, Mabel is questioning how it connects to Ben.

Charles arrives and they all excuse themselves to try and figure out how to get Kimber talking. Mabel tries to talk to her alone by relating to her youthfulness. As she talks, Mabel gets another mysterious text. She ignores it and continues to question Kimber about her showmance with Ben.

Meanwhile, Oliver and Charles go into Ben’s dressing room to spy.

Kimber admits she and Ben had something going on so that he could do an endorsement for her brand. She admits he was difficult, but sweet. There was also a mystery person who helped get rid of a red mark on his face.

When Mabel is done talking to Kimber, she goes to the dressing room where the three of them see the message ‘ F**king Pig’ on the mirror written in lipstick.

Oliver thinks it is Goldie the wardrobe lady. As they investigate more, Mabel takes the lipstick and gets yet another text….she finally agrees to a meeting….with none other than Cinda.

The two ladies talk about Cinda’s self care. As they do that, there is yet another rehearsal where Charles sings, adding the pantomiming of making the omelette. Oliver tells him to stop, which leads him to have another panic attack.

Everyone is mad at him, so Oliver has a meeting with him and suggests he sees a shrink since he is also dealing with the life change of Joy moving in. Charles admits things aren’t what he thought and Oliver tells him maybe he should go back to how things were before.

Cinda wants to collaborate with Mabel on a new true crime podcast, but she is not interested. She says she has her own case, which Cinda figures out is Ben’s murder. She wants in, but Mabel wants to remain loyal to the guys.

Charles talks to Joy about moving in, but ends up accidentally proposing. She is delighted and is shows off her ring, which completes her incomplete set….as the episode comes to a close.
