Q) What are the recent projects you have been working on? 

 

A) I am currently playing the lead role as Lt. Roberta Warren on the hit show on the SYFY network “Z Nation” and on Bounce TV’s “In The Cut.” The groundbreaking comedy “The Bernie Mac Show” is currently airing on Aspire TV. I have a few other projects in the work that I cannot discuss just yet but as soon as I can you will be the first to know.

 

Q) Where do we pick up this season of “Z Nation?”

 

A) The 5^th season picks up from Lt. Warren’s crash during black rainbow and Murphy setting out to find her, all while the other are going to find what they believe to be “Newmerica.”

 

Q) Warren is currently in recovery with the handsome yet mysterious Cooper. Any chance for sparks to fly? 

 

A) Mr. Cooper (Mario Van Peebles) is quite mysterious and, yes, there are some sparks and fire to this new love interest.

 

Q) Do you get much input into how Warren continues to evolve throughout the seasons?

 

A) I trust Karl Schaefer immensely so there is no need for much input. My trust in Schaefer allows me to play Warren in a creative ride. I love her!

 

Q) Will we get to see any relationships explored this season that we haven’t gotten to as much in past seasons?

 

A) In the earlier episodes there is a love interest and the story is nowhere near over.

 

Q) Are there any special guest stars that you can share who we will be seeing appear on this season? 

 

A) This season we are lucky to have special guests Mario Van Peebles and Zachary Ward.

 

Q) What have been some of your most memorable moments from filming the show throughout the seasons? 

 

A) The series is filmed in Washington state and each location is uniquely different. I am not a huge fan of the woods, so filming in the woods is something I will never forget. I am not the camping type – not even glamping. My character Warren is way more adventurous in the woods a total bad-ass.

 

Q) Is there anything else about this season you would like to share or tease?

 

A) We are in the middle of the season, so you will have to just stay tuned I can’t give away the big secrets.

 

Q) What do you think it is about the series that continues to make it such a fan favorite?

 

A) Karl Schaefer is a brilliant writer and each season the storylines become more interesting and fascinating. The combination of both the cast and crew make for an exceptional ensemble.

 

Q) You are a part of social media. Do you enjoy the instant fan feedback you receive to episodes?

 

A) I am active on Instagram and Twitter (@KellitaSmith1) and I am always amused by the different fan theories and reactions to each episode. It’s a great way to connect with my fans around the world. The “Z Nation” fans really create outstanding fan art for the series.
