Kristin Adams – Truth Seeker
Q. What are the current projects that you are working on?
A. I am not working right now, but I just finished doing a short film called The Ninth Street Chronicles. Before that in the summer I was doing a six part series called “Beach Girls,” which was for the Lifetime network.
Q. What can you tell us about the premise for your latest movie Where The Truth Lies and your character Alice?
A. Where the Truth Lies is about these two entertainers in the 1950’s that have a murder mystery that’s surrounding them. They’ve been accused of murder and a young reporter in the 1970’s looks into the case and I play Alice, who is a younger singer. She is kind of a lover to Colin Firth’s character and so yeah I sing in the movie.
Q. What made you want to be a part of this project?
A. Well, I actually talked to Atom Egoyan at the Juno Awards. He had seen me in this film called Falling Angels. He had me in mind kind of for Alice so I had to audition for it. I was definitely very interested in working for Atom and I think he’s a great director. I thought it was great to work with a Canadian director and I was excited to sing too, because I never really had sung professionally. It was an exciting scene in the movie.
Q. How was working with director Atom Egoyan?
A. It was great, he’s a brilliant director, he’s an absolutely genuine and friendly kind of person on the set. I had a lot of fun just talking with him and he’s just really great, it was really enjoyable to work with him.
Q. A lot of famed actors worked on this project. Was there a lot of chemistry there?
A. Yeah, I met Kevin Bacon briefly and he was a nice guy. I mostly worked with Colin Firth and Alison Lohman and I really liked those two as actors. So, coming into the project I really was excited to work with them. We all got along well and there is definitely good chemistry between all of us and I think we worked together very well. So, it was fun.
Q. There is a lot of controversy about Where the Truth Lies and you’re in one of the controversial scenes. What can you tell us about the scene that makes it so provocative?
A. Well, I’m in the scene with Colin Firth and Alison Lohman and the scene involves me kissing Alison and some other controversial implied things. I think people are uncomfortable because it’s two women and in an intimate scene, even though it was done so beautifully and shot so nicely. I don’t personally think it’s very controversial, I think people are overreacting a little bit. The scene is between two women so that’s probably why people feel that way.
Q. You’re also in the film The Waldo Cumberland Story. Why should viewers take the time to check out this film?
A. Well, it’s a really great quirky Canadian kind of short film. It’s really originally and has a really unique kind of story to it that’s different from anything a lot of people have seen. The film is very well done and it has a great cast and the director did such an amazing job with it, so I was really happy when I saw it. I thought it was a great, great story and film.
Q. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A. I try to find lots of things to do, right now I’m taking martial arts and I’m taking a water color painting class. I hope to take ballet and some other dance type things in the future. I just try to fill my time up with art related activities and some sports and just always trying to find things to help me work on my acting. Some acting classes, or things like that.
Q. What is your latest obsession? Are you into any particular sport, book, music group or activity?
A. Well, let’s see. Currently I’m reading a biography of Priscilla Presley, called Child Bride. So, it’s this big biography and I’m very intrigued by it. So, I guess that’s what I’m currently reading right now, in terms of something that I’m really focused on. I guess I’m really kind of getting into dance as well. I want to take some ballet and some hip hop, I’m kind of getting really interested in that as well.
Q. What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
A. I would like to say I hope there are some of you out there. ‘Cuz, I don’t really know if I have any fans because when you’re a Canadian actress it’s hard to tell. I would say thank you very much and keep watching and I hope to keep you entertained.
